The duties of an Assistant Director of Sales and Marketing at this dual-branded property (Sheraton & Best Western) include, but are not limited to the following;

The Assistant Director of Sales & Marketing assists the Director of Sales & Marketing in generation of top line revenue and RevPAR for the properties through a successful revenue management strategy and revenue production in assigned Association market.

Job responsibilities and duties include but are not limited to the following:

1. Achieves individual monthly revenue goals/monthly solicitation goals.

2. Attends industry events and tradeshows to develop new opportunities while representing hotels

3. Actively solicits and generates Association conference business with guest rooms / food & beverage.

4. Monitors group sales teams progress toward their monthly individual revenue goals and solicitation goals. Provides feedback or sets strategy sessions to help group sales associates succeed.

5. Assists in the development of team sales action plans, forecasting and evaluates trends to modify strategies that will enhance revenues effectively. Ensures competitive shop calls are being conducted.

6. Assists in leading, training & mentoring group sales managers. Identifies each sales managers' opportunities for improvement and assists in their development.

7. Assists in the production of annual hotel business plans.

8. Assists in the development and maintaining of the departmental budget.

9. Leads property revenue meetings and ensures revenue maximization and profit in all areas in the absence of the Director of Sales.

10. Ensures timely submission of required reports to the Director of Sales and Marketing and/or General Manager.

11. Participates in local networking organizations and maintains good rapport with local civic groups and companies.

12. Assists the Director of Sales & Marketing with recruitment of new Sales team members

13. Leads the sales team by positive example. Ensures group sales team members are a positive reflection of the hotel at all times.

14. Assists sales managers in closing business as may be needed.

15. Assists with developing, managing and maintaining vendor relations

16. Works closely with the revenue management team to ensure accurate forecasting of revenues with most updated information

17. Other duties as may be assigned by the Director of Sales & Marketing and/or General Manager.

Job Requirements:

18. Must be legally entitled to work full time hours in Canada

19. Must have a minimum of 2-3 years sales experience in a similar capacity in a full service hotel

20. Must be proficient with Microsoft excel and Microsoft word

21. Must have excellent guest service skills

22. Must have proven strong negotiating skills

23. Prior experience with CI/TY an asset
