Position Summary:?
Our Director of Brand and Marketing is responsible for the Alberta brand strategy as well as developing and executing comprehensive programs to promote Alberta as a premier destination to travel, invest and live. This role involves leading marketing campaigns, and enhancing the destination's brand presence across various platforms. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in marketing, excellent leadership skills, and a passion for making the complex simple.
Key Accountabilities:
Brand Strategy and Management:
Enhance and maintain Alberta's brand in collaboration with various external stakeholders and in service to all business units.
Ensure the messages across all channels align to the brand strategy.
Oversee market research to identify target audiences and emerging trends.
Collaborate with creative teams, internally and externally, to evolve the brand execution for relevancy and impact.?
Govern the appropriate use of all brand governance tools including visual identity guidelines, intellectual property holdings and content usage rights.
Marketing?Strategy:
Develop and implement integrated marketing plans to drive tourism revenue and investment in tourism development.
Oversee paid marketing, organic social media, owned website, and all distribution of brand messaging.
Analyze market trends and adjust strategies to meet changing conditions.
Oversee the creation and curation of high-quality video and photo content that tells Alberta's story.
Leadership and Agency Management:
Lead and mentor two direct reports and a team of eleven professionals.
Lead two agency of record relationships totaling over $15M in spend.
Set performance goals and provide regular feedback.
Promote a collaborative and innovative work environment.
Budget Management:
Develop and manage the annual budget.
Monitor expenditures and ensure cost-effective use of resources.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, equivalent work experience?will be considered.
Minimum of 10-15 years of experience in leading marketing, brand, sponsorship or related fields.
Proven track record of developing successful marketing strategies and partnerships.
Strong people leadership and team management skills, a minimum of 7 years direct people leader experience, leading managers is a strong asset.
Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
Proficiency in digital marketing tools and analytics.
Experience in content development, particularly video and photo production.
Passion for travel and tourism.
