The Position:

The Intermediate Graphic Designer helps grow a client's brand on an ongoing and project basis, spanning all areas of integrated communication, branding and digital. They're creative visionaries who are highly effective at staying on top of multiple projects, each with various moving pieces, thanks to their proactive thinking skills, exceptional verbal and written communication abilities, strong attention to detail and keen design sense.

Overall Accountability:

The purpose of this position is to provide design solutions from concept to completion. This includes participating in brainstorms, leading and executing creative deliverables, and ensuring that projects are executed on time and on budget. In this role, the Intermediate Graphic Designer ensures that the agency provides work that exceeds clients' expectations, by constantly and consistently adapting and anticipating industry trends and delivering a consistently superior product.

Your responsibilities as an Intermediate Graphic Designer at zag:

  • Design and develop logos brands from concept to completion.
  • Develop brand guidelines and ensure consistency throughout a brand's development at every touchpoint.
  • Create prototypes or mock-ups for client presentations or internal reviews, demonstrating how a design will function in the final product.
  • Lead design projects and manage timelines to ensure on-time delivery.
  • Develop design concepts and visual themes for campaigns, often taking a project from initial idea through to final execution.
  • Collaborate with copywriters, photographers, other creatives, and multiple team members to bring ideas to life.
  • Mentor and provide feedback to junior designers to foster professional growth.
  • Collaborate with clients and internal stakeholders to interpret design briefs and deliver on project goals.
  • Conduct market research and competitor analysis to inform design decisions.
  • Develop and refine design concepts for various media, including print, digital, and environmental.
  • Design websites using Figma, understanding and maintaining best practices.
  • Stay updated on design trends and tools to bring innovative ideas to projects..
  • Conduct research to gather inspiration or references for projects, such as looking at competitor designs or trending styles.
  • Troubleshoot design issues and provide solutions to improve the final product.
  • Present work to clients or team members under the supervision of a Art Director and Creative Director.
  • Review your files for quality checks to ensure that all design materials meet the agency's standard for accuracy, resolution and overall quality. Attention to the details is essential.

Your strengths and qualifications :

  • A minimum of 3 years experience, with 2-5 years of marketing experience, agency background preferred.
  • Proficiency in Adobe design software, particularly Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator.
  • Understanding of digital ad, social media, and digital advertising outputs.
  • Self-motivated with enthusiasm to learn, and a capability to identify and address design and production challenges creatively and efficiently.
  • Meticulous attention to detail is crucial for ensuring the accuracy and quality of design materials.
  • An ability to manage multiple projects and allocated timelines while prioritizing tasks effectively to meet tight deadlines.
  • Flexible and adaptable to changing project requirements, client preferences, and design revisions; with a willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies, tools, and production methods as the industry evolves.

Key relationships:

  • Reports to Art Director
  • Will work closely with Account Services, Creative, Digital, and Strategy teams.
