Location: Mississauga (Hybrid)

Purpose

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Corporate Communications & Community Investment, the Employee Communications Manager will be responsible for developing and executing internal communication strategies that enhance employee engagement, promote company culture, and support organizational goals. This role will work closely with HR, leadership, and various departments to ensure consistent and effective communication across the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive internal communication plans to support company initiatives, culture, and values.
  • Create and manage content for internal communication channels, including e-newsletters, intranet/employee app, and emails.
  • Lead monthly editorial committee meetings to discuss and plan content from various departments, ensuring the accuracy and relevance of the information shared and overseeing the editorial calendar to ensure the timely publication of content.
  • Collaborate with leadership to communicate key messages related to employee programs, organizational updates, and policies.
  • Monitor and measure the effectiveness of internal communication efforts and adjust strategies as needed.
  • Provide communications counsel to key internal stakeholders, ensuring content and timing aligns with business strategy and brand guidelines.
  • Provide internal communication support for crisis management and change management initiatives.
  • Act as a liaison between employees and management to facilitate open and transparent communication.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in communications, journalism, public relations, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in internal communications or a similar role.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
  • Proficiency with various communication tools and platforms (e.g., SharePoint, Microsoft Teams, social media); experience with integrated communications platforms such as Staffbase, Firstup, Haiilo, etc. an asset.
  • Experience in the food or manufacturing industry is a plus.
