Job Title: Marketing Manager
Location: Vancouver, BC (Hybrid)
Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent
Salary: $80,000-$90,000 per annum
Position Overview
We are seeking a strategic and creative Marketing Manager to lead our marketing initiatives across North America. This role will drive brand visibility, support sales growth, and ensure consistent communication of our mission: make composting second nature. Reporting to the Director of Sustainability & Brand, you'll collaborate across teams and lead key initiatives in content creation, campaign strategy, and stakeholder engagement. This job demands deep knowledge and expertise and to do it successfully depends on understanding detailed information.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the execution of marketing activities and oversee the day-to-day operations of the marketing function
- Manage brand campaigns, SEO strategy, advertising calendar, and marketing asset development
- Drive certification processes for compostable products (e.g., BPI, CMA) and maintain compliance documentation
- Coordinate product launches and support product lifecycle planning with product and sales teams
- Collaborate closely with Sales and Operations to align marketing with go-to-market strategies
- Oversee freelance designers and external contributors
- Supervise and work closely with a Marketing Specialist focused on marketing systems and digital operations
Additional Responsibilities
- Marketing Strategy & Planning: Develop and implement strategic marketing plans aligned with company growth goals
- Campaign Management: Lead integrated campaigns from concept through execution and post-analysis
- Market Research: Gather and analyze data on customer needs, trends, and competitors
- Brand Stewardship: Maintain a consistent brand voice and visual identity across all channels
- Budget Oversight: Manage and report on marketing budgets and vendor contracts
- Content Creation: Oversee social media, email marketing, print collateral, and website content
- Analytics & Reporting: Measure KPIs and report on campaign and digital performance
- Customer Engagement: Support brand storytelling and CRM strategies to build customer loyalty
- Project Participation: Co-lead cross-functional meetings related to web development and product innovation
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or related field
- 3-5 years of experience in a senior marketing role, ideally within the sustainability or compostable products sector
- Proven success managing multi-channel campaigns across North America
- Hands-on experience with graphic design tools, copywriting, and basic photography
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple deadlines
- Familiarity with marketing platforms such as Mailchimp, Google Analytics, Google Ads, and CMS tools
Preferred Attributes
- Passionate about sustainability and circular economy practices
- Experience with product marketing is an asset
- Effective communicator and cross-functional collaborator
- Comfortable leading projects and supervising teams or contractors
- Experience with certifications or trademarks in the compostable or environmental sector (asset)
- Great deal of attention devoted to getting results that are timely and accurate
