Overview:

Our client is currently in search of a dynamic and results-oriented Scientific Sales Manager to lead the expansion of their existing sales team across Canada. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in the augmentation of their current sales force, with a primary focus on driving business growth through effective leadership and the strategic cultivation of existing business relationships.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Team Leadership:
  • Lead, mentor, and coach a team of sales professionals to achieve individual and team targets.
  • Foster a positive and high-performance culture within the sales team.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews and provide constructive feedback for professional development.

  • Sales Strategy and Planning:
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive sales strategy aligned with organizational goals.
  • Identify market opportunities and tailor sales strategies accordingly.
  • Analyze market trends, competitor activities, and customer needs to identify growth opportunities.

  • Business Growth:
  • Set ambitious sales targets and develop action plans to achieve and exceed them.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities to expand the company's market presence.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with key clients, partners, and stakeholders.

  • Geographical Expansion:
  • Strategically build and expand the sales team across Canada, considering regional market dynamics.
  • Recruit, onboard, and train new team members.
  • Implement effective communication channels to ensure seamless collaboration among remote team members.

  • Performance Analysis and Reporting:
  • Implement metrics and KPIs to measure the effectiveness of the sales team.
  • Regularly analyze sales performance data and provide insightful reports to senior management.
  • Use data-driven insights to make informed decisions and adjustments to the sales strategy.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's Degree with a scientific discipline is preferred (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics).
  • 7- 10 years of sales experience.
  • Proven experience in sales management, preferably in a leadership role.
  • Strong understanding of sales principles, strategies, and market dynamics.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to lead and inspire a geographically dispersed team.
  • Proven track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets.
  • Experience in building and expanding sales teams across diverse regions.
  • Experience in the laboratory distribution field a plus
  • Bilingualism in English and French is considered an asset.
