Les faits saillants.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>L\u2019\u00e9tude en question, supervis\u00e9e par le chercheur Qiaozhu Mei de l\u2019Universit\u00e9 du Michigan aux \u00c9tats-Unis, vient tout juste de para\u00eetre <a href=\"https:\/\/journals.plos.org\/plosone\/article?id=10.1371\/journal.pone.0261262#pone.0261262.ref050\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\/\/journals.plos.org\/plosone\/article?id=10.1371\/journal.pone.0261262#pone.0261262.ref050\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">dans le journal scientifique en ligne PLOS ONE<\/a>, le 26 janvier dernier.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote\">\n<p>Nous avons montr\u00e9 que les d\u00e9veloppeurs avaient diverses habitudes [\u00ab<em>patterns<\/em>\u00bb] d\u2019utilisation des \u00e9mojis [dans leur communications], lesquels peuvent \u00eatre reli\u00e9s \u00e0 leur statut de travail, incluant le niveau d\u2019activit\u00e9s, le genre de t\u00e2ches, le type de communications, le temps de gestion et d\u2019autres mod\u00e8les de comportements&nbsp;\u00bb, annoncent les auteurs de l\u2019\u00e9tude.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Pour arriver \u00e0 leur fin, les chercheurs ont analys\u00e9 des donn\u00e9es archiv\u00e9es sur la plateforme de programmations GitHub, soit plus de 62 millions de publications depuis 2018. Pendant qu\u2019une petite partie des communications se fait en face \u00e0 face (ex&nbsp;: vid\u00e9oconf\u00e9rence), la majorit\u00e9 des \u00e9changes se font de mani\u00e8re asynchrone et textuelle (ex&nbsp;: courriels, message instantan\u00e9, forum de discussion, conversation Slack). Si les travailleurs expriment fr\u00e9quemment leurs \u00e9motions dans ces contextes d\u2019une mani\u00e8re similaire aux communications face \u00e0 face, alors [une organisation] pourrait potentiellement cont\u00f4ler ces canaux pour mesurer leur \u00e9tat \u00e9motionnel, avec l\u2019aide d\u2019un syst\u00e8me de valorisation des donn\u00e9es.&nbsp;\u00bb<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><strong>L\u2019absence d\u2019\u00e9mojis&#8230; pr\u00e9dicateur de d\u00e9crochage ?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Fait int\u00e9ressant, l\u2019\u00e9quipe de Qiaozhu Mei a aussi pu \u00e9tablir une corr\u00e9lation entre l\u2019utilisation des \u00e9mojis et l&rsquo;assiduit\u00e9 sur la plateforme.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote\">\n<p>Surprenamment, le seul fait d\u2019utiliser la fonctionnalit\u00e9 des \u00e9mojis peut \u00eatre mod\u00e9lis\u00e9 pour pr\u00e9dire les abandons futurs des d\u00e9veloppeurs sur la plateforme avec une pr\u00e9cision impressionnante.&nbsp;\u00bb<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Les chercheurs rappellent l\u2019importance d\u2019exprimer ses \u00e9motions, aussi bien positives que n\u00e9gatives, dans un contexte de travail. C\u2019est une bonne mani\u00e8re d\u2019\u00e9vacuer son stress, font-ils valoir, en plus de permettre aux coll\u00e8gues et patrons de mieux comprendre notre \u00e9tat psychologique.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Encourager un usage \u00ab&nbsp;vari\u00e9&nbsp;\u00bb<\/strong><\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote\">\n<p>Le futur du travail repose de moins en moins sur la centralisation des lieux de travail et la collaboration en personne, rappellent les auteurs. Travailler \u00e0 distance est devenu la norme pendant la pand\u00e9mie et la tendance continue de s\u2019accentuer.&nbsp;\u00bb<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>En conclusion de leur \u00e9tude, les chercheurs invitent les organisations qui op\u00e8rent \u00e0 distance, sur des plateformes virtuelles o\u00f9 dominent les \u00e9changes textuels, \u00e0 se doter \u00ab&nbsp;d\u2019une large vari\u00e9t\u00e9 d\u2019\u00e9mojis&nbsp;\u00bb, d&rsquo;en encourager l\u2019usage et m\u00eame, lorsque possible, d\u2019int\u00e9grer \u00e0 leur plateforme un moteur de recommandation des \u00e9mojis. <\/p>\n<p>Ces organisations pourraient ainsi capter des signaux les informant de la pr\u00e9sence d\u2019employ\u00e9s \u00e0 risques de d\u00e9crochage ou d\u2019\u00e9puisement professionnel. Une belle id\u00e9e sur papier\u2026 Toutefois, les auteurs font ici peu de cas de la vie priv\u00e9e.
