About the Opportunity
Welch LLP is currently looking for a Technical Writer specializing in the area of Scientific Research and Experimental Development (SR&ED) for our Ottawa office.
Duties and Responsibilities
Interviewing clients, uncovering all SR&ED eligible projects
Planning, organizing, and executing engagements on time and on budget
Preparing all necessary technical documentation to file a SR&ED claim on behalf of the client
Proofreading and editing SR&ED project descriptions
Assisting in the preparation of the financial documentation to file a SR&ED claim
Advising and supporting clients before and during any CRA technical review for SR&ED tax credit claims
Documenting all client interviews
Gathering client support documentation as needed
Assisting in developing project work plans and scheduling associated project deliverables
Preparing other tax credit applications including digital media, film and TV tax credits
Various other duties as requested
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or Master's degree in Engineering or Science (Computer Science would be considered an asset) or 3 years of practical experience in science, technology or engineering fields
- Technical writer experience is considered an asset
Excellent communication skills
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
Ability to work with minimal supervision on multiple projects
Strong client focus and orientation towards achievement
Strong attention to detail
Excellent organizational and time management skills
Working knowledge of MS Office applications
