You will help lead our efforts to identify new acquisition targets and build relationship with existing targets. Reporting directly to the Manager of Business Development for Modaxo Americas, you will help build a pipeline of future M&A opportunities. This will involve developing, qualifying, and nurturing relationships with CEOs/Founders of potential acquisition targets. You will leverage strategies for engagement with companies in the transit industry - including parking and traffic - and develop creative methods for outreach.
Responsibilities
Develop a pipeline of accounts using strategies for outreach to build and strengthen relationships with new and existing prospects.
Perform preliminary business analysis to determine if prospects fit our acquisition criteria.
Identify, contact, (including cold-calling, email, LinkedIn trade shows, etc.) schedule meetings with decision makers of transit and mobility vertical market software companies that we can acquire.
Identify and attend relevant conferences and tradeshows to generate leads and build relationships with prospects.
Represent the Modaxo team by engaging in dialogue with software company owners / executives, financial advisors, investment bankers, and private equity firms while maintaining confidentiality, integrity and professionalism.
Use Salesforce to build a database of potential M&A targets, and track appointments, correspondence and progress through the M&A pipeline.
Job Qualifications
Business/Finance/Economics degree with a keen interest in developing an expertise on determining whether prospective M&A leads fit Modaxo's acquisition criteria.
Excellent planning, organization, and time management skills.
Strong verbal and written communication skills with a knack for fostering relationships.
Ability to work with significant independence while still meeting targets and deadlines.
Outgoing personality and willingness to aggressively market Modaxo through outbound calling programs, networking, and thesis-based company targeting.
Strong understanding of technology and the software industry is an asset.
Preference
Preferable to have minimum of 2-3 years' sales or business development (hunting) experience
Experience with Search Funds or in the private equity industry is a plus.
Tools
Experience using Microsoft Excel.
CRM proficiency (Salesforce preferred)
Travel
Travel (approximately 10%) as required.
