About the Role
We are seeking a driven and technically minded Outside Sales Representative to grow profitable sales of HVAC and mechanical equipment across Western Canada. This role is focused on building strong relationships with consulting engineers, contractors, building owners, and developers while supporting projects from early specification through to order fulfillment and closeout.
This position blends technical sales, project coordination, and relationship management and is ideal for someone who thrives in a consultative, solutions-based sales environment.
Key ResponsibilitiesSales & Business Development
- Drive profitable sales of HVAC and mechanical equipment within the assigned territory
- Establish and maintain key accounts in coordination with management
- Conduct regular face-to-face sales calls with engineers, contractors, and owners
- Influence specifications, estimate projects, prepare bids, and secure orders
- Track and report sales activity, forecasts, and opportunities
- Participate in industry events, conferences, and association meetings
Project & Technical Coordination
- Coordinate equipment selection, design, and ordering to meet project specifications
- Work closely with Project Managers on equipment procurement, delivery, and scheduling
- Support contractors and owners throughout the project lifecycle
- Assist with project cost control, change notices, and invoicing coordination
Internal & External Collaboration
- Collaborate with management, project managers, estimators, and accounting teams
- Maintain strong relationships with manufacturers and suppliers
- Act as a liaison between customers and internal teams to ensure timely responses
- Support issue resolution related to delivery, quality, and warranty matters
Product & Market Leadership
- Serve as a technical resource for assigned product lines
- Educate customers and internal staff through presentations, training sessions, and lunch-and-learns
- Stay informed on market trends, competitive intelligence, and new product developments
Qualifications & Experience
- Experience in outside sales within the HVAC, mechanical, or building systems industry
- Strong understanding of HVAC equipment, systems, and applications
- Ability to read and interpret specifications, drawings, and technical documents
- Proven track record of relationship-based, consultative selling
- Excellent communication, organization, and time-management skills
- Comfortable managing multiple projects simultaneously
- Proficiency with CRM tools, spreadsheets, and basic estimating software
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel within the territory
