Primary Purpose of Position

Sinopec Canada is currently seeking an innovative and results-oriented individual to join our Marketing team. Reporting to the Marketing Manager, the Senior Marketing Representative will be accountable for the gas control, marketing and reporting which drive performance of the short and long-term corporate portfolio strategy and proprietary markets.

Responsibilities

• Gas scheduling/control function for the NOVA system, including daily balancing of Sinopec's NOVA account;
• Co-ordinate forecasting and nomination of crude oil and condensate production on the Petrotranz system;
• Assist Marketing Manager in coordinating all internal approvals (local and HQ) for short and long term commodity sales contracts
• Assist monthly reporting, reviewing volumes sold, purchaser and price received, including commentary on current trends in the commodity and transportation market
• Assist the Marketing Manager and other internal stakeholders in evaluating and developing short and long-term natural gas marketing strategies in line with production profile and corporate strategy;
• Work closely with internal stakeholders on forecasting current and new production to ensure proprietary production gets to market;
• Optimize net-back through minimizing sales penalties, transportation un-utilization, and operating costs for all commodities;

Position Knowledge, Skills and Experience

• Strong understanding of the Gas Control function, as well a familiarity with sales and transportation of crude oil and condensate;
• Familiar with the Nova/TCPL system, Alliance, and crude oil/NGL pipeline infrastructure
• Expert working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Powerpoint;
• Strong knowledge of the Petrotranz system;
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and critical analysis skills, with the ability to work in a collaborative manner with diverse groups of individuals;
• Displays a high-level of integrity in all actions, complying with and promoting the company's core values, a respectful work environment, and aligning with the code of business conduct Ability to work effectively, confidentially and professionally in a rapidly changing business environment;
• Strong sense of Governance to follow corporate Policies and Procedures, both internally and wit HQ
• Results-oriented with the ability to work independently, prioritize work and multi-task effectively.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 8+ years of experience in oil and gas marketing;
• A post-secondary degree in Engineering or Business, or equivalent oil and gas marketing experience;
• Ability to communicate in Mandarin (written and verbal) is considered an asset;
• Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.
