The Opportunity

The Director, Integrated Marketing Communications is a senior marketing leader responsible for shaping how MAV Beauty's brands show up in culture, media, and the consumer conversation. This role owns the development and execution of integrated communication strategies across PR, influencer, social, content, and paid amplification, ensuring each brand's story is told with clarity, relevance, and impact.

This role partners closely with Brand, Creative, and Agency teams to translate brand strategy into breakthrough communication platforms that drive awareness, engagement, and commercial results. Reporting to the CMO, the Director of Integrated Communications ensures priorities, investments, and execution are aligned to business objectives across the portfolio.

Key Responsibilities:

Integrated Communications Strategy & Leadership

  • Own and evolve the integrated communications vision across the MAV Beauty portfolio, ensuring alignment to brand strategies and business priorities
  • Develop communication frameworks that clarify brand positioning, campaign priorities, and channel roles
  • Lead and develop a high-performing team spanning PR, influencer marketing, social, content, and paid amplification
  • Establish clear KPIs and measurement frameworks focused on awareness, engagement, relevance, and ROI across all channels of communication
  • Stay ahead of cultural, media, platform, and creator trends to ensure brands remain modern and competitive

Influencer & Creator Leadership:

  • Oversee influencer strategy across paid and earned programs, ensuring creator partnerships drive authenticity, reach, and impact
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with creators, talent agencies, and influencer partners
  • Lead partner selection and contract negotiations to ensure strong performance and seamless execution
  • Develop scalable influencer programs that ladder into broader launch and brand strategies
  • Own influencer budget management and forecasting across brands

Paid Media & Media Integration:

  • Own paid media strategy across the portfolio, ensuring investments are insight-driven, integrated, and aligned to brand and business objectives across the funnel
  • Serve as a strategic integrator for retailer media, partnering with Brand, E-commerce, and Sales teams to connect Walmart Connect, Amazon Media, and other retail platforms into broader communications
  • Lead paid media strategy across key upper-funnel channels such as paid social and streaming/CTV with clear roles, KPIs, and funnel impact
  • Act as a true counterpart to media agencies, providing direction, challenging recommendations, and grounding strategies in performance insights
  • Drive real-time optimization, using KPIs and performance signals to improve efficiency and impact
  • Translate media performance into insights, delivering clear learnings and recommendations to inform future strategy
  • Ensure creative and media work in lockstep, amplifying PR, influencer, social, and content through smart paid sequencing

PR & Earned Media:

  • Partner with brand teams and agency partners to define PR strategies, calendars, and moments that build credibility and cultural relevance
  • Establish a scalable approach to earned influencer relations, driving organic pickup through proactive seeding, real time responsiveness, and cultivation of creators into long term brand advocates
  • Oversee media relations execution, securing high-impact placements across all media channels
  • Review and guide pitch calendars to ensure alignment to brand priorities and product focus
  • Lead the development of press events, influencer experiences, and brand moments in partnership with external vendors
  • Oversee copy development including press releases, talking points, Q&As, and interview briefs
  • Drive competitive media monitoring and insight-sharing across the organization

Content, Social & Paid Amplification:

  • Define and oversee social media strategy across platforms, ensuring content supports brand storytelling and business objectives
  • Guide the development of compelling, platform-native content across organic and paid channels
  • Oversee paid social and amplification strategies to maximize reach, efficiency, and performance
  • Partner with Analytics and Brand teams to continuously optimize content and media based on performance insights
  • Ensure consistent brand voice and visual identity across all owned and paid touchpoints

Cross-Functional & Agency Leadership:

  • Act as a key partner to Brand teams, translating brand strategy into clear communication priorities
  • Collaborate with Sales and E-commerce teams on retailer media and .com support where appropriate
  • Lead agency relationships with clear expectations, performance tracking, and budget oversight
  • Ensure agencies have a deep understanding of brand values, objectives, and standards

Key Qualifications and Experience:

  • 8-10+ years of experience in integrated marketing communications, ideally within beauty, personal care, or lifestyle brands
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field; Master's degree preferred
  • Proven leadership experience across influencer marketing, PR, social, content, and paid media
  • Strong understanding of modern media ecosystems, creator economy, and platform dynamics
  • Demonstrated ability to lead paid media strategy and challenge media agency thinking across performance and upper funnel channels
  • Experience managing teams, agencies, and multi-million-dollar budgets
  • Highly analytical with a track record of using data to inform decisions and optimize performance
  • Exceptional communication, leadership, and cross-functional collaboration skills
  • Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, high-expectation environment

Additional Job Details:

  • Location: 4 days on-site at 100 New Park Place in Vaughan, ON.
  • Posting Type: Existing vacancy
  • Compensation: Annual base salary of $140,000 - $165,000.
  • In addition, this role is eligible for an annual target bonus based on individual and company performance. Note: actual compensation is determined by factors including skills required and experience.
