Job Summary

We're looking for a Business Development Associate to support and strengthen GSCI's business development team.

This role sits at the intersection of sales operations and business development support. You will keep the pipeline organized, support a high volume of active opportunities, manage smaller accounts, and represent GSCI as a primary presence at defense trade shows and industry events.

Our senior Business Development team is focused on high-value relationships and strategic opportunities - your job is to multiply the team's capacity and ensure every opportunity gets the attention it deserves.

This is a role with real growth potential. Strong performers will develop into a full Business Development Representative position over time.

This role is ideal for candidates who are eager to gain real-world exposure to B2B/B2G sales, international business development, and marketing in a dynamic and fast-growing defense technology company.

Responsibilities

Pipeline & CRM Management

· Track active quotes and follow up on outstanding quotes on behalf of the BizDev team

· Flag opportunities that require attention and escalate to the appropriate BizDev rep

· Generate regular pipeline reports for leadership showing what's active, progressing, and close to closing

· Keep records clean and up to date following trade shows, customer calls, and meetings

Business Development Support & Inside Sales

· Support the BizDev team in managing a high volume of opportunities across the pipeline - re-engaging contacts and advancing opportunities where appropriate before handing back to the senior rep with full context

· Own smaller accounts end to end - manage the relationship, prepare and send quotes, and keep those customers moving forward

· Build and send standard quotes for smaller or repeat orders so senior BizDev reps can focus on higher-value opportunities

Trade Shows & Events

· Serve as a primary GSCI representative on the trade show floor - engaging prospects, representing the brand, and having initial conversations on behalf of the team

· Brief the internal marketing and events team ahead of shows on materials, priorities, and setup requirements, then take ownership on the ground

· Capture and log all leads and contacts made at shows with detailed notes on each conversation

· Own post-show follow-up outreach - every contact made at a show receives a timely, personalized follow-up

· Coordinate with the BizDev team to ensure warm leads from shows are handed off with full context and actioned quickly

Qualifications - Required:

- 1-3 years of experience in a sales support, inside sales, business development, or coordination role - OR military service with transferable skills

- Highly organized and detail-oriented - you take ownership of keeping things current and accurate without being asked

- Confident and professional in client-facing situations - comfortable representing the company in person at events, on the phone, and in written communication

- Genuine interest in defense technology, electro-optical/infrared systems, UAVs, or CUAS - we're looking for someone with enthusiasm and curiosity who can easily deepen their technical knowledge

- Proficiency with CRM tools (Zoho), quoting systems/ERP (Epicor), and Microsoft Office (especially Excel and Word)

- Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously and know when to escalate

- Self-starter who thrives in a small-team, fast-moving environment

- Fluent communication in English

- Willingness and ability to travel to domestic and international trade shows multiple times a year

- A clean, current CRM that the BizDev team trusts and relies on

- Every opportunity in the pipeline receiving consistent, professional attention

- Smaller accounts managed independently with strong customer relationships

- Quotes tracked and followed up consistently and professionally

- GSCI well-represented at every trade show with every lead followed up promptly and thoroughly

- A clear track record being built toward a Business Development Representative role

Additional Information

- This is a fully on-site role based in Concord, ON

- Candidates must be legally eligible to work in Canada

- Strong English communication skills (written and verbal) are required

- Travel to domestic and international defense trade shows is required

- Military veterans and reservists (CAF Regular Force, Reserve Force, or equivalent) are strongly encouraged to apply

Salary Range:

$28 - $32/hr (40.5 hours per week), commensurate with experience, with commission eligibility on closed accounts as the role develops.

Hours: Monday - Thursday 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM, Friday 8:00 AM - 3:00 PM
