Position Overview

Canada's Sports Hall of Fame is seeking a highly organized, proactive, and execution-focused events and communications professional to lead end-to-end planning, coordination, and delivery of several major national initiatives during a high-profile six-month period for the organization.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives in fast-paced environments and knows how to move complex projects from planning through execution. The successful candidate is a strong planner, communicator, writer, and stakeholder manager who can confidently lead multiple moving priorities while ensuring a high standard of professionalism, organization, and delivery.

As Canada's highest sporting honour, the Order of Sport Awards is one of the country's most significant celebrations of sport excellence and leadership. This role plays a central part in delivering a polished, high-quality national event experience for Hall of Famers, partners, sponsors, media, distinguished guests, and stakeholders across Canada.

Reporting to the Vice President, Operations & Brand, the Manager, Integrated Communications & Events will lead the end-to-end coordination and execution of key public-facing initiatives, including the Order of Sport Awards, exhibit launches, and national activations.

This role requires someone who is equally comfortable building detailed workback schedules and execution plans as they are managing stakeholders, drafting communications materials, coordinating vendors and partners, overseeing budgets and timelines, and leading onsite event execution. The successful candidate will work across internal teams, consultants, venues, sponsors, media, Hall of Famers, and external partners to ensure CSHoF events are delivered collaboratively, professionally, and with impeccable attention to detail.

Core Responsibilities

Event Management & Execution

  • Lead end-to-end planning, coordination, and execution of three major CSHoF events, launches, and activations, including the prestigious Order of Sport Awards and exhibit-related initiatives.
  • Develop and manage detailed project plans, production timelines, communications schedules, budgets, and execution workbacks.
  • Support outreach to Hall of Famers, VIPs, sponsors, media, and distinguished guests with professionalism, discretion, and care.
  • Develop project-specific communications and stakeholder engagement plans aligned with organizational priorities and existing strategies.
  • Oversee all event logistics, partner integration, communications alignment, guest experience, and public-facing delivery across all phases of execution.
  • Coordinate internal teams, partners, consultants, venues, vendors, and stakeholders to ensure projects move forward effectively, collaboratively, and on schedule.
  • Manage event-related budgets, invoices, timelines, contracts, and deliverables with strong attention to detail and accountability.
  • Anticipate challenges, problem-solve proactively, and maintain a consistently high standard of execution across all initiatives.
  • Oversee all aspects of onsite execution, travel, and event management.

Communications & Stakeholder Management

  • Develop and lead project-specific communications and stakeholder engagement plans, incorporating input from and alignment with existing organizational and partner strategies, while overseeing external communications for events, launches, and activations, including invitations, VIP communications, media relations, announcements, stakeholder outreach, visibility opportunities, and social media.
  • Draft, manage, approve, and distribute communications materials including media releases, speaking notes, briefing materials, advisories, stakeholder communications, messaging, and event-related content.
  • Set and coordinate communications timelines, approvals, and stakeholder inputs across multiple contributors and partners.
  • Manage media relations and visibility opportunities tied to key organizational initiatives and events.
  • Ensure communications are clear, timely, accurate, and aligned across public-facing channels and stakeholder groups.
  • Work collaboratively with internal teams to shape and refine messaging as required.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with teams across Operations, Exhibits, Education, Digital, Creative and Strategy to support coordinated project delivery.
  • Help ensure alignment across communications, partner commitments, event execution, and audience experience.
  • Coordinate integrated rollout across media, digital, social, and onsite channels.
  • Represent Canada's Sports Hall of Fame professionally in meetings, planning sessions, events, and stakeholder interactions at all times.

  • Stakeholders, Hall of Famers, partners, sponsors, media, and vendors experience strong communication, professionalism, and coordination throughout delivery.
  • Communications materials and stakeholder communications are timely, polished, accurate, and well-managed.
  • Budgets, timelines, and deliverables are tracked carefully and managed effectively.
  • Projects move forward efficiently with strong organization, accountability, and follow-through.
  • The successful candidate becomes a trusted execution lead who can confidently manage complexity and deliver high-quality public-facing work.

About the Candidate

The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, proactive, and solutions-focused. They are someone who can take ownership of projects, manage multiple priorities simultaneously, and confidently lead initiatives from planning through execution.

They bring strong communications instincts, excellent writing skills, and the ability to build trusted relationships across teams, partners, sponsors, media, vendors, and stakeholders. They are calm under pressure, highly professional in public-facing environments, and are reliable, resourceful, and highly effective at getting things done.

They bring:

  • 5-8 years of experience in events, communications, public relations, marketing, or a related field.
  • Strong experience leading complex events, launches, activations, or public-facing initiatives from planning through execution.
  • Excellent writing, communications, stakeholder management, and organizational skills.
  • Experience managing budgets, timelines, vendors, and multiple project workstreams simultaneously.
  • Experience working with senior leaders, sponsors, media, VIPs, or high-profile guests.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, professionalism, and follow-through.
  • The ability to remain calm, adaptable, and solutions-oriented in fast-paced environments.
  • A collaborative, hands-on approach and willingness to step in wherever needed to ensure successful execution.
  • Experience in sport, culture, nonprofit, museum, event, or public-sector environments is considered an asset.
  • Bilingualism (English/French, written and verbal) is considered an asset but not required.
