Position Summary

The Senior Marketing Communications Specialist is a key member of the Marketing & Communications team, responsible for shaping and elevating TTC Pension Plan's (TTCPP) brand and communications strategy. This senior-level role provides strategic guidance to internal stakeholders and leads the planning, development, and execution of high?impact communication initiatives.

The Specialist ensures all communications align with TTCPP's strategic business plan and reflect the organization's mission, vision, values, and brand standards. Success in this role requires exceptional writing and editing abilities, strong strategic thinking, and meticulous attention to detail.

What will I do?

As the Senior Marketing Communications Specialist, you will:

Strategy & Planning

  • Lead the end to end development of integrated communications strategies, branding frameworks, and marketing plans that advance TTCPP's strategic priorities.
  • Ensure all communications consistently reflect TTCPP's mission, vision, values, brand standards, and regulatory obligations.
  • Design and oversee major enterprise level communications initiatives, including internal communications programs, the Annual General Meeting, and the Annual Report/Year in Review.
  • Translate complex organizational objectives into clear, actionable communication roadmaps that support long term engagement and trust.

Content Development

  • Lead the creation of high quality, accurate, and engaging content across all channels, ensuring clarity, consistency, and alignment with TTCPP's tone and voice.
  • Write, edit, and proofread a wide range of materials - from member communications to executive messaging - ensuring compliance, accessibility, and brand integrity.
  • Develop compelling presentations, scripts, digital content, and narrative materials that support leadership, member engagement, and organizational storytelling.
  • Elevate content quality by applying best practices in plain language, narrative structure, and audience-centric communication.

Advisor

  • Serve as a trusted communications advisor to leaders and internal teams, offering strategic counsel, practical solutions, and proactive recommendations.
  • Partner with cross functional teams to ensure coordinated, timely, and effective communication across the organization.
  • Build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships to support alignment, clarity, and seamless execution of communication initiatives.
  • Anticipate communication needs and risks, providing guidance that strengthens organizational readiness and reputation.

Channel Management

  • Own and manage TTCPP's LinkedIn presence, including content strategy, editorial planning, publishing, and performance optimization.
  • Maintain an integrated communications calendar to ensure consistent, strategic delivery across all channels.
  • Support the Member Outreach program through communication planning, event materials, and on-site representation at member and union events as required.
  • Ensure all channels reflect a cohesive, modern, and member-focused brand experience.

Analytics

  • Monitor, analyze, and interpret communications performance across digital platforms, website analytics, social media, surveys, and events.
  • Identify trends, gaps, and opportunities to enhance communication effectiveness, engagement, and reach.
  • Provide clear, actionable insights and recommendations, and support the implementation of improvements.
  • Use data driven decision making to refine strategies and strengthen the impact of TTCPP's communications.

Other Responsibilities

  • Identify, recommend, and implement process improvements to enhance communication workflows, quality, and efficiency.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

What will help me be successful?

Education & Credentials

  • High school diploma or post?secondary education in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Commitment to continuous learning in marketing, communications, and industry trends.

Experience & Technical Expertise

  • 5+ years of experience in communications, marketing, branding, or public relations.
  • Strong understanding of social, digital, and print media, as well as branding best practices.
  • Experience in pension plans, financial services, government, or regulated industries is an asset.
  • Demonstrated ability to produce polished, high?quality communications for diverse audiences across multiple channels.
  • Exceptional writing, editing, proofreading, and corporate storytelling skills.
  • Strong analytical skills to interpret performance data and communicate insights.
  • Experience with WordPress, InDesign, Photoshop, Canva, and video/audio editing tools.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe tools, MS Project, or similar platforms.
