Graphic Design & Communications Assistant - Full-time - Temporary Contract

The Arbutus Club is seeking a creative and organized Graphic Design & Communications Assistant to join our Communications team on a 4-6 month contract. This role supports Club-wide marketing and communications initiatives through digital and print design, social media content, event promotions, and internal communications. The ideal candidate will have strong design skills, attention to detail, and the ability to contribute creative ideas in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.

Duties & Responsibilities

Assist with the creation of digital and print marketing materials

Design graphics for Club events, promotions, signage, newsletters, and social media

Support Club-wide communications campaigns across multiple platforms, including website, app, email campaigns, digital displays, newsletters, triannual magazine, and social media, etc.)

Help create engaging content for social media and internal communications

Assist with event and program photography and video editing

Collaborate with various departments to support marketing and promotional needs

Ensure brand consistency across all communications materials

Contribute creative ideas and design concepts for campaigns and events

Assist in the creation of The Arbutus Club Magazine: The Bark

Requirements & Qualifications

Post-secondary diploma or degree in Graphic Design, Communications, Marketing, Publishing, or a related field

Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, including InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, and Acrobat

Strong understanding of social media platforms and digital content creation

Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

Ability to manage multiple projects in a deadline-driven environment

Motion graphics experience is considered an asset

Web design experience, including HTML and CSS, is considered an asset
