Great storytelling doesn't just describe a community - it helps build one. At Edmonton Community Foundation, we're looking for an exceptional writer and creative communicator who can turn complex ideas into clear, compelling stories: stories that connect people, inspire generosity and share lasting impact. This role spans content creation and management across digital, print, video, audio and social, as well as supporting internal communications and media relations. If you thrive in a collaborative environment and want your work to genuinely strengthen your community, we'd love to hear from you.

ABOUT EDMONTON COMMUNITY FOUNDATION

Edmonton is a city shaped by people who care deeply about their community. Edmonton Community Foundation (ECF) exists to harness that generosity - connecting donors, charities and community partners to enrich lives and build a vibrant city, now and for generations to come.

Each year, ECF distributes more than $44 million in grants and scholarships, made possible through the generosity of over 2,600 donors. Through more than 1,750 endowed funds representing over $1 billion in assets under management, ECF has granted more than $480 million to the community since 1990.

As the largest non-governmental funder of Edmonton's charitable sector, ECF plays a unique role in identifying emerging community needs and directing resources where they can have the greatest impact. By working collaboratively with donors, nonprofits, volunteers, government, and community leaders, ECF helps ensure Edmonton continues to grow as an inclusive, resilient, and thriving community.

The Opportunity

The Communications Coordinator reports to the Manager, Communications and plays an important role in sharing the stories, impact and initiatives of Edmonton Community Foundation with donors, grantees, community partners and the broader public. As part of our close-knit six-person Marketing and Communications team, you'll contribute to a wide range of projects, collaborate closely with colleagues across the organization, and see your direct impact across the community. Through compelling written and digital content and thoughtful coordination, you will help strengthen ECF's voice across owned and internal communications channels.

This role is ideal for a Communications generalist who is an exceptional writer, enjoys managing multiple projects, is deadline-driven and works well across teams to identify, develop and share ECF's impact - and the people and partners who make it possible.

In this role, you'll gain hands-on experience across a full spectrum of nonprofit communications - from storytelling and media relations to digital content, publications, podcasts, donor communications and internal communications. This role provides an excellent foundation for someone looking to grow their communications career while developing a broad and well-rounded skill set alongside experienced Marketing and Communications professionals.
