This future community center will be more than just a building: it will be a landmark, a refuge, a gathering space rooted in solidarity. It will offer a safe environment where children can learn and play, where parents can find support, and where elders can share their knowledge and rekindle the sense of community they may have left behind. It will be a place where everyone can access resources, feel at home, and most importantly, envision a future.

To bring this project to life, the Philanthropy Project Officer plays a central role.

This position is at the heart of our collective ambition: to mobilize resources, build alliances, and activate influence to realize a project that responds to the real needs of Parc-Extension residents. It combines strategy, action, political insight, and creativity—within a context where each step forward has a tangible impact on neighborhood life.

Your mission
The person in this role plays a key part in designing and executing a bold, community-driven fundraising strategy. The objective: to gather the necessary funds to build the community center and turn it into a collective success.

Your challenges and responsibilities

• Develop a fundraising strategy that reflects the scope and ambition of the project.
• Identify and pursue public and private funding opportunities.
• Engage partners and funders around a clear and compelling vision.
• Leverage political and community influence to ensure sustainable support.
• Plan and coordinate inspiring and inclusive fundraising events.
• Build and nurture a network of engaged ambassadors who will champion the project.
• Work closely with the communications team to ensure the project and fundraising campaigns are effectively promoted.
• Monitor results carefully, adjusting and refining strategies as needed.

Experience and skills

• A professional background—regardless of the path taken—that equips the person to meet the challenges of this role, whether through direct experience in philanthropy or through transferable skills from other domains.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Strategic thinking and organizational ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Proficiency in French and English (spoken and written); additional languages are a plus.
• Familiarity with the community sector and awareness of local social issues (a strong asset).

Working conditions

• Position to be filled as soon as possible.
• One-year contract, renewable.
• Flexible work model: hybrid (remote and in-office).
• 35 hours per week, with occasional evening or weekend availability.
• Hourly wage between $26 and $28, with social benefits.
• Main workplace: Table de Quartier Parc-Extension, Montréal.
