Public Relations ManagerLocation - Kitchener

Job Role -

  • Collaborate with the Head of PR and Media Relations to craft comprehensive publicity strategies for positive media coverage for clients, aligning with their KPIs and project objectives.
  • Analyze audience demographics, industry trends, campaign metrics, goals, KPI's, budgets, and key messages to develop campaign implementation strategies using a multi-channel, integrated approach.
  • Work closely with the Marketing Manager to create integrated client plans and content strategies.
  • Assist in the creation of client proposals, ensuring alignment with strategic goals.
  • Develop and implement PR strategies, including but not limited to crisis communications and engagement plans.

Job Duties -

  • Craft and disseminate press materials, including media releases, media alerts, and press kits to highlight clients' projects, events, and achievements.
  • Organize and manage events like press junkets, screenings, and other promotional opportunities to generate buzz and amplify client visibility.
  • Create and pitch compelling story ideas and secure media coverage through interviews, features and exclusive opportunities.
  • Arrange and facilitate media appearances across various platforms (broadcast, radio, print, podcast, online media), providing clients with effective media training and support.
  • Track, analyze and grow media lists and strengthen/maintain those relationships.
  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with journalists, editors, in?uencers, and other media professionals to enhance publicity opportunities for clients.
  • Achieve primary public relations performance indicators for client and agency, including increased media connections and publicity placements.
  • Evaluate and analyze earned media value of public relations campaigns.
  • Responsible for project management across all assigned public relations campaigns.
  • Collaborate with internal teams on multi-channel content development and copywriting.
  • Act as key liaison for clients during crisis situations or negative publicity incidents.
  • Develop crisis communication plans, draft statements, and manage media inquiries to protect the reputation and image of clients.
  • Monitor and analyze media coverage, publicity metrics, and audience feedback to evaluate and optimize publicity campaigns. Identify areas for improvement and adjust strategies to drive desired outcomes.
  • Monitor and analyze media coverage for all PR clients.

PROFITABILITY:

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience and Skills:
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in public relations, marketing, or related ?elds with progressively increasing roles and responsibilities.
  • Experience in working with or inside creative agencies or freelance service providers.
  • Prior people leadership experience with at least one or more direct reports.
  • Knowledge of the non-pro?t sector (experience preferred)

  • Education:
  • Bachelor degree or diploma in communications, public relations, public engagement, or marketing
