We are currently recruiting for a Communications Assistant to join our team for a minimum 16-month term. This temporary, full-time position will play a key role in ensuring the Corporate Communications admin function is well supported to better support our residents.

Reporting to the Manager of Corporate Communications and Intergovernmental Relations, this position provides comprehensive administrative support to the Corporate Communications team. The Communications Assistant plays an important role in supporting the team in delivering effective internal and external communications - from records management, to information requests, to event logistics.

As the Communications Assistant, you will:

- Supports and directs internal and external requests for information and resources through the communications inbox.

- Provides support to coordinating event logistics.

- Routine updates to website, social media and weekly print advertising.

- Supports existing communications tools including the public digital signs, intranet site, internal monitors and booking of advertising.

- Maintains records management systems; electronic and hardcopy files.

- Sorts, reconciles and codes purchasing invoices.

- Reviews and prepares documents, forms, agendas, and other correspondence materials.

- Maintains and monitors office equipment and supplies inventory; places orders as required.

- Provide assistance to other team members on an as needed basis.

- Media monitoring various communication outlets: print, broadcast, online and social media.

- Post-secondary certificate in administration, communications or a related field.

- Good oral and written communication skills, with excellent work ethic and commitment to a high level of customer service.

- Knowledge of proper functioning and use of a variety of scanning and photocopy equipment.

- Knowledge of proper file organization.

- Ability to maintain productivity while performing repetitive tasks and adapt to changing environments.

- Ability to work independently, prioritize and adapt to a changing pace and environment while managing one's time.

- Experience working within a communications function preferred.
