AMA employs 140 Travel Advisors: trusted experts bringing worlds of experience to Albertans as they plan, book, and venture out across the globe.

As the Marketing Manager for AMA Travel, you'll work with world-renowned brands such as Royal Caribbean Cruises, WestJet Vacations, and Disney (to name but a few) to bring incredible offers and once-in-a-lifetime experiences to Albertans. You will lead and bring together strategies and campaigns and inspire wanderlust as you help Albertans travel with confidence.

You sleep and breathe both online and offline media channels. For you, there's nothing more fulfilling than developing breakthrough strategies and processes (or enhancing existing ones) to refine our go-to-market strategies.

You are proficient in leading and building powerful campaigns and can lead a team of experts to optimize results and set direction for travel growth and digital engagement. You'll manage expenditures, optimize efficiencies, and customize our media mix. You'll also help refine the way we speak to audiences to ensure we're aways hitting the sweet spot of value, relevance, and emotional connection.

The Travel Marketing Manager position reports directly to the Director of Marketing.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

Journey & Campaign Development

  • Work collaboratively with AMA Leadership to develop strategic vision and translate direction into implementation and tactics. Take the work beyond straight transactional connections to robust member journey engagements.
  • Define marketing mediums and techniques to increase visibility and traffic across our travel business unit.
  • Quality control for concepts and projects, including reviewing and approving integrated media tasks. Direct development and collaboration with our in-house Digital Media Buying team to set campaign goals and refine mid-flight.
  • Oversee multiple projects simultaneously and proactively manage the success of production scope, schedules, and budget management.

Champion Performance

  • Deliver personal-based messaging and collateral geared at engaging and supporting customers in all stages of their booking journey.
  • Develop lead generation strategies and campaigns to effectively incubate, qualify, and convert leads.
  • Define key performance indicators and implement enterprise-level measurement, analytics, and reporting measures to gauge success.
  • Continually test/optimize existing campaigns to identify areas of improvement.
  • Perform detailed analysis and report results across journeys, initiatives, campaigns, and segments, and make actionable recommendations for improvement.
  • Work closely with Optimization & Automation Specialists to ensure full funnel digital buys are effective and member (and prospective member) experience is continually evaluated.

Fostering & Maintaining Relationships

  • Meet with business units and suppliers to keep current with strategies, needs, changes to products and services, market considerations, and the business environment.
  • Work lock-in-step with suppliers and tourism boards to deliver outstanding and effective campaigns.
  • Establish strong working relationships with Marketing and Communications leadership and other stakeholders to ensure that our programs, products, and services are implemented through strategic initiatives and aligned with brand voice.
  • Provide ongoing evaluation, mentorship, and guidance to your direct reports.

WHAT YOU'VE DONE

  • You are passionate about travel and motivated to learn and experience more about this dynamic industry.
  • You're no newbie; you have a minimum of 10 years of experience leading high-performing and engaged marketing teams.
  • You have robust experience planning and purchasing online (search, programmatic, PPC) and offline media (broadcast, print, and out of home) and a keen appreciation of newly emerging media channels.
