The Sr Digital Marketing Specialist- Paid Social manages the Paid Social media strategy and execution within the digital marketing team. This individual is a large contributor to the overall success of the business and will own the day-to-day management of all Paid Social media programs and help develop strategies to drive future account performance. This focuses on paid social media channels to drive sales and traffic and promote Staples Canada and Staples Professional to B2C and B2B customers. The Sr. Specialist is accountable for meeting revenue and cost targets, providing accurate and timely reporting, and driving strategy for current and future initiatives. A deep understanding of social media platforms and how to best leverage Paid Social for each platform is vital to the success of this role.

Specifically, You Will:

  • Leads and owns the paid social marketing strategies and campaigns that drive sales and profitability goals for the business.
  • Develop and manage paid media campaigns across multiple social channels including Facebook, Pinterest, YouTube and LinkedIn.
  • Present results and opportunities within Paid Social channels to senior leadership.
  • Build paid social media strategies across multiple channels and provide recommendations on budget, creative, and targeting.
  • Own and manage a large paid social budget and present recommendations to improve traffic, ROAS and revenue.
  • Develop and launch lead generation campaigns to acquire new business customers to the Staples Preferred program.
  • Analyze and present campaign metrics and analytics, including daily optimization of campaigns to increase sales.
  • Work collaboratively with interdepartmental teams with reporting to assist with marketing planning, strategies and campaigns
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiencies within paid social media programs.
  • Work closely with account representatives for Meta, Pinterest and Google to develop a robust testing and measurement program to drive incremental sales.
  • Ensure all content is on-brand and consistent in terms of style, quality and tone, and work with creative team to ensure ads meet both brand and channel requirements.
  • Display an in-depth understanding of the functionality and best practices of all major social platforms including: Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Pinterest, YouTube, etc.

Some of what you need:

  • Post-secondary education, preferably with a focus on marketing or communications
  • Knowledge of digital marketing, communications and a passion for the latest marketing trends
  • Extensive experience in developing and managing ads through paid social platforms including, but not limited to, Facebook, Pinterest, LinkedIn and YouTube
  • Experience with paid social media platforms and analytical tools including Google Analytics, Facebook Ads Manager, Pinterest Ads Manager and LinkedIn Marketing Solutions
  • Strong hands on experience with Facebook and Pinterest Catalog Management and Product Feeds.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage concurrent projects and deadlines
  • Meticulous attention to detail
  • Process driven and results-oriented
  • Proactive approach and the ability to work independently
  • Excellent writing and communication skills
  • Effective knowledge of digital and traditional marketing strategies and tactics
  • Minimum 4 years' experience gained in a paid digital marketing role in a corporate retail organization or within an agency
  • Meta Professional Certification in Media Buying considered an asset.
  • Highly proficient in Excel/Word/PowerPoint with the ability to analyze data and prepare reports (including the use of pivot tables, charts, and vlookups)
  • Experience with the Microsoft Office suit
