Role Summary - Marketing Communications Consultant

As a Marketing Communications Consultant, you will help coordinate and deliver client projects, including marketing and communications plans, campaigns, websites, events and other complex deliverables, working directly with our team, roster of freelance talent and clients. You have a mind for both marketing and public relations; you are a strong writer, critical thinker and project manager with an eye for detail; and you are resourceful - talents you will bring to bear in all of your deliverables. You will help develop creative ideas and products, manage schedules and budgets, and write and assemble materials that achieve results. In all of the work that you do, you will be encouraged to think creatively, and you will be supported and mentored by a team of practitioners who have your back. This role is based in Saint John or Fredericton, New Brunswick.

Key Responsibilities

  • Help to research, coordinate and deliver client projects, with a specific focus on critical thinking, strong writing, editing, proofreading, formatting and coordinating the materials design. These materials include, but are not limited to, strategic communications and marketing plans and products (reports; marketing copy; website, social media and other digital content; presentations; speaking notes; news releases, etc.)
  • Assist in primary and secondary research to inform client projects, with the help of our partners as needed.
  • Manage the development and delivery of websites and other digital marketing communications projects, supported by our creative and web development teams.
  • Contribute to the development of creative ideas and assets.
  • Support the planning and delivery of events.
  • Develop and manage project schedules, budgets and overall project delivery.
  • Support client meeting logistics (in-person and virtual).
  • Help manage our roster of freelance creative talent, supervising materials production, photo and video shoots, event logistics, etc.; schedules; and budgets for key projects, maintaining a high level of quality.
  • Deliver exceptional client service.
  • Contribute to the firm's vision and business plans, and help build a culture of learning, excellence, client-centricity, inclusive leadership and fun.

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education or training with specialization in communications, marketing or similar discipline
  • 3 to 5 years' experience working in a fast-paced communications, marketing and/or professional services environment, or equivalent, undertaking strategic and tactical responsibilities
  • Highly developed skills in critical thinking, written and verbal communications, research analysis, project management, problem-solving and interpersonal communication
  • Experience managing projects such as marketing communications strategies and plans, websites, social media campaigns and other digital marketing communications projects, and/or events
  • Fluency with digital media, including online advertising and social media
  • Highly proficient in all MS Office programs (including Teams) and general fluency/comfort with technology
  • Proficiency in Canadian Press (CP) Style is an asset
  • Professional services and/or agency experience is an asset
  • Fluency in both French and English is an asset
