28 to 35 hours of work per week, Monday to Friday, during office hours

Hourly salary: $25.94 - $44.93, plus benefits

Starting date: September 1st, 2024, negotiable

Fixed-term unionized position: 2 years, with renewal horizon based on performance and availability of funds

Reporting to the Administrative Director and the Academic Directors (Mireille Paquet and Antoine Bilodeau) of IRMS, this position is responsible for coordinating the Institute’s activities, communications, projects and resources. The successful candidate will have excellent organizational skills, autonomy, adaptability and a desire to learn. IRMS is a fast-growing unit, which makes this position a unique opportunity to contribute to the development of an institution and to implement creative solutions.

 

 

Responsibilities and main tasks

Plan, implement and monitor the Institute's activities, in collaboration with the team;

Create content for the Institute's communications, manage social networks and the center's website, and collaborate with the University's communications department on communications issues;

Participate in the welcoming, training and orientation of the Institute staff;

Provide ad hoc support to Academic Directors in the preparation of funding applications and similar documents;

Assist the Administrative Director in managing the Institute's finances and resources;

Prepare, in collaboration with the Administrative Director and Academic Directors, the Institute's annual report and other similar documents;

Manage the Institute's documents and records

Other tasks as needed, in support of the Directors

 

Job Requirements

Bachelor's degree or higher in a social science or humanities discipline

Experience in coordination or project management

Oral and written bilingualism (French and English), with strong writing skills in both languages

In-depth knowledge of various social media platforms, direct mail and tools associated with MS Teams

Excellent interpersonal communication skills

As the position is based in Montreal, applicants must be legally authorized to work in Quebec.

 

 

Will be considered an asset

Background or experience in immigration research in Quebec, Canada or abroad

Experience in knowledge transfer and mobilization

Training in project management

Experience in graphic design

Knowledge of the Unity system

 

Salary and benefits

 

Salary will be determined according to job-related training and experience.

 

Salary range will be determined based on the AERC/CARE collective agreement.

 

The position includes a benefits package (health and dental plan, life insurance and sick leave, pension plan and long-term disability plan).
