Eau Claire Athletic Club (ECAC) is a premium private club set to open in Q1 of 2025 in the iconic former Eau Claire YMCA building. Located in Calgary, AB, ECAC offers an unparalleled array of state-of-the-art facilities and amenities, designed to provide a luxurious and inclusive environment that promotes a healthy and active lifestyle. We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Membership and Marketing Manager to join our team and be part of this landmark project from the ground up. ROLE DESCRIPTION:

This is a full-time on-site role as a Membership and Marketing Manager at the Eau Claire Athletic Club. The Membership and Marketing Manager will be responsible for day-to-day membership operations, including managing membership inquiries and applications, providing excellent customer service to members, coordinating membership events and programs, and maintaining member records. The Membership and Marketing Manager will also collaborate with other club departments to ensure a seamless membership experience and contribute to the overall success of the club.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Serve as the primary contact for members, connecting with them in person, via email, and over the phone.
  • Oversee member communications and member marketing initiatives, including ongoing and weekly communications.
  • Maintain and manage the membership database, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Oversee the Member Services staff and departments, including the Member Services Desk (front desk), Child-minding, Wellness, And Member Lounges ensuring appropriate levels of staffing and staff training.
  • Manage and resolve member service issues efficiently and effectively.
  • Build and nurture strong relationships with members, fostering a sense of community and belonging.
  • Assist Membership Sales by conducting member tours and responding to inquiries from potential new members.
  • Create a portfolio of engaging member events.
  • Work collaboratively with the Athletic and Recreation Manager, and all departments, to create a seamless experience for the Membership and Staff.
  • Advise, develop, and execute sophisticated, strategic communications and marketing plans that speak to multiple stakeholder groups.
  • Collaborate with the COO to execute plans, projects, and initiatives that support the Club's strategic goals.
  • Manage budgets, workflow, and priorities for key staff.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, business, commerce, public relations, or a related field, or 5+ years of practical experience or internships, and a strong portfolio of work is an asset.
  • Proven experience in database management.
  • Demonstrated team management experience, with the ability to build and lead a team of up to 20 or more full- and part-time employees.
  • Excellent staff management, time management, and organizational skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to create compelling content for various channels.
  • Experience in brand development and management, including maintaining brand consistency across all communications.
  • Proficiency in digital marketing channels, such as email marketing, content marketing, and social media marketing.
  • Experience and proficiency with Adobe Suite, and familiarity with marketing automation tools and other relevant marketing technologies.

GOALS AND KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS (KPIS):

  • Maintain an accurate and up-to-date membership database.
  • Achieve targeted rates for member retention and member participation
  • Ensure appropriate levels of staffing and staff training are met and maintained.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with members, ensuring high levels of satisfaction and engagement.
  • Ensure that financial and performance targets are achieved on an annual basis.

REPORTING:

The Membership and Marketing Manager will report directly to the Chief Operating Officer (COO).

Experience in start-ups is an asset but not a requirement. We are looking for individuals who are eager to learn, and excited by challenges. ECAC is an in-person work environment, and due to the nature of our industry, there are no work-from-home opportunities.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • A willingness to work evenings and weekends as required.
  • Familiarity with membership management software is an asset.
