The Event Marketing Advisor plays an important role in executing our retail pharmacy and banner member event strategies. As a key member of the Customer Communications team, you will collaborate with the Senior Director, Customer Communications to champion the evolution of our B2B events portfolio. This entails delivering compelling content and immersive brand experiences that elevates McKesson Canada and fosters customer engagement.

The successful candidate for this role will have a strong customer-centric focus, hold exceptional project management and writing skills, work confidently with senior leadership, and have a thorough understanding of event trends, audience preferences, and industry best practices.

Specific Responsibilities

Brand Strategy and Content for Retail Banner Events

  • Develop and execute comprehensive content plans and event agendas for six core pharmacy banners, collaborating with business leaders to ensure alignment with organizational objectives and member needs.
  • Write a wide range of promotional communications including invitations, website registration, eblasts, newsletter/ member portal updates, etc.
  • Assist in the development of brand assets for onsite design elements, McKesson services booth, onscreen presentations, promotion of events on social media, etc. to ensure a consistent brand experience across all touchpoints.
  • Responsible for the development, deployment, and billing of yearly vendor sponsorship program. Oversee sponsorship budget and support internal leaders and/or vendor enquiries. Prepare post-event vendor survey and fulfillment reports.
  • Oversee regional member tours, act as liaison between event agency and internal teams.
  • Proactively engage with executive leaders and act as the subject matter expert for strategic event advice and coaching. Provide ongoing collaboration with event logistics and cross-functional teams, including leading committee content meetings/ award nominations, to deliver impactful experiences and achieve business goals and objectives.
  • Provide onsite leadership and be readily available to liaise with event logistics team, internal presenters/ teams, and sponsors to ensure flawless execution.

External Tradeshow Support

  • Manage the B2B event calendar and coordination of logistics and booth in a box marketing material for Account teams attending customer tradeshows representing McKesson.

Leadership and Guidance Oversight

  • Champion the McKesson Canada brand for all customer retention-related initiatives. Coordinate successful high-touch, high-impact events, where we focus on quality over quantity to amplify our strategic priorities, and commitment to customers and community.
  • Maximize the impact of future events by utilizing post-event summary reports including tracking of ROI and customer satisfaction metrics and modify strategies accordingly.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Relevant education in Communications, Marketing, or Event Management.
  • 4+ years of experience developing, implementing, and leading content and communications strategies related to events. Minimal logistics focus within this role.
  • Proven experience in curating events for B2B audiences, preferably for a large organization within the retail, healthcare, or pharmaceutical industry.
  • Experience with Adobe design products, marketing automation solutions (Marketo), Salesforce, and event management software (Swoogo) are definite assets.
  • Experience working with event planning and logistic agencies is an asset.
  • Travel within Canada required. Onsite event leadership support for a minimum of 5 customer events per calendar year.

This is determined by several factors, including performance, experience and skills, equity, regular job market evaluations, and geographical markets. Our Base Pay Range for this position

$71,400 - $119,000
