You are a curious, energetic and results driven communications professional with experience managing teams and change in fast-paced, diverse and growing organizations. With the support of the Director of Communications, you will manage the team developing content for Seaspan's diverse employees across the shipyards and marine group teams. This will include developing a multi-year strategic plan, advising senior leaders on internal visibility and working with a variety of stakeholders across the organization to understand and meet their needs for internal communications.

Note: Due to business needs, this position is required to be fully on-site based at 50 Pemberton in North Vancouver.

What you'll do

  • Develops and oversees internal communications strategies to ensure the communication of corporate programs is consistently delivered and understood.
  • Produce content for internal events including presentations, speeches and speaking notes.
  • Reviews communications across the organization to develop, maintain and communicate standards for communications, focusing on clarity, simplicity, style, consistency as well as brand identity and delivery.
  • Identify new communications strategies, tools and channels to support overall internal communications objectives.
  • Develop and implement integrated internal/external communications plans associated with Seaspan's activities and priorities.
  • Work as part of the Communications team to communicate business strategies and provide consistent and compelling content across all platforms.
  • Has accountability for the company intranet content and related internal communication channels such as the internal newsletter, digital signage system, etc.
  • Oversees budget and event programming for internal events.

What you'll bring

  • A post-secondary degree in Business, Communications, Journalism, Public Relations or Human Resources.
  • A minimum of 7-10 years of relevant experience in internal or external communications, particularly as a business partner.
  • Experience leading and developing internal communication programs and campaigns.
  • Experience with change management and communication of large-scale initiatives across multiple internal target audiences.
  • Established track record collaborating with and proactively supporting senior leaders on communication strategies and best practices, client service mindset and consultative approach.
  • Supervisory experience.

The estimated salary for this position is $121,500 - $148,500. In determining final salary, Seaspan considers many factors including the successful Candidate's skillset and experience as well as position location and internal equity. The final base salary offer will be at the Company's sole discretion and presented as part of a competitive total compensation package.
