We are hiring one full-time, permanent Senior Advisor, Communications position working with the EPCOR Water Services (EWS) Operational Communications team in Edmonton, AB.

Step into the dynamic world of Water Services as our Senior Advisor, Communications. In this pivotal role, you will be the architect of strategic employee communications, driving engagement, fostering a vibrant EWS culture and supporting external communications initiatives. Your mission? To craft and execute communication plans that resonate, inform, and inspire.

We are looking for a dynamic and talented communications professional to lead the charge in strategic planning and executing comprehensive initiatives for EPCOR's newest integrated business unit. This role involves enhancing communication channels and crafting content to elevate employee engagement and customer communications. By forging strong relationships with internal and external clients and delivering innovative communication solutions, you will be instrumental in advancing our business unit goals and priorities.

What you'd be responsible for:

  • Developing and delivering strategic communication strategies for internal and external audiences that demonstrate strong business knowledge and support business unit wide initiatives
  • Leveraging and optimizing communication channels to engage employees and enhance business unit culture. This involves maintaining high standards for traditional and digital internal communications channels, including the business unit intranet site, e-mail, and other emerging tools / channels
  • Leading and supporting business unit employee events, ensuring alignment with EPCOR's employee experience and priorities
  • Cultivating the business unit editorial calendar seeking content alignment for employee programs and business unit marketing and advertising initiatives
  • Participating on EPCOR's Communications and Public Engagement On-Call Team rotation in reviewing, assessing, and responding to requests and issues to maintain our reputation as a caring, committed utility provider
  • Supporting as needed on external communications initiatives and customer communications.

:

  • Bachelor's degree with preference to an education in Communications, Journalism or Marketing from a recognized post-secondary institution. A general business or liberal arts education, or a diploma-level education, combined with relevant work experience would be considered.
  • 4-6 years of experience delivering effective, measurable communications across a range of communications channels.
  • Excellent research, writing and editing skills across print and digital channels.
  • Adheres to high editorial standards.
  • Proven project management and communication planning skills, including a high degree of comfort in a fast-paced environment where priorities can shift.
  • Strong collaboration and relationship building skills with the ability to work with employees at all levels of the organization to recommend appropriate communications channels and messaging.
  • Ability to envision the big picture, linking business goals/priorities and company positions to their work.
  • Experience working with Microsoft Office Suite applications, SharePoint.

Class: P2

Wage: Starting at $50.95 per hour. Final Wage and Step will be determined at the time of selection and are based on a combination of factors as outlined in the Collective Agreement that may be found online.

Hours of work: 80 hours biweekly
