Sinai Health is looking for an Advisor to join the Talent Acquisition Team in the Human Resources department.

As an integral member of Talent Acquisition (TA) Team, the Advisor works closely with hiring managers and the Human Resources inter-professional team to coordinate the recruitment and selection for positions in their assigned portfolio. The Advisor will help to ensure that Sinai Health complies with legislation, collective agreements, and applicable Sinai Health policies and procedures; in particular the Recruitment and Fair Employment Opportunity policies. The Advisor will also provide first-line advice, direction and counseling to hiring managers, employees and external applicants about relevant policies and procedures, escalating issues to the Human Resources leadership team as appropriate.

In this role you will:

  • Coordinate recruitment and selection for assigned portfolio
  • Review assigned recruitment requests (e.g. vacancy detail verification, salary confirmation, etc.)
  • Create and revise job postings in the Applicant Tracking System. Post positions (internally/externally as appropriate)
  • Maintain ATS data: Enter approved requisitions and close filled positions. Maintain vacancy list and prepare analytics
  • Create and maintain complete and accurate recruitment files
  • Shortlist and forward resumes that meet the posted requirements to hiring managers for review
  • Schedule and attend interviews as required
  • Coordination of testing, assessment and interviews for candidates as it pertains to Talent Acquisition recruitment (where applicable)
  • Conduct credential and regulated health professions registration checks for external applicants
  • Conduct attendance and discipline checks for internal applicants
  • Liaise with Total Rewards for seniority list generation and internal transfer paperwork
  • Secure and check references, prepare and issue offer letters to successful candidates
  • Support career fairs to screen potential external applicants and ensure effective representation of Sinai Health's employer brand and Sinai Health as a preferred employer
  • Support social media recruitment and marketing initiatives
  • Complete applicable new hire, transfer and onboarding documentation for employee files
  • Advise employees and applicants re: the application process; refer job applicants to the career website; provide applicable recruitment forms to internal candidates upon request
  • Conduct research to support issue resolution (e.g. HRIS data audits, file reviews, etc.) and create reports and summaries
  • Provide back-up to other HR Advisor members of the Talent Acquisition team as required
  • Conduct telephone and/or in-person screening interviews and provide advice and guidance to managers on best practices within the recruitment function
  • Prepare experience pay claims for review by the Talent Acquisition Specialist
  • Perform other duties related to the position as assigned

Job Requirements:

Mandatory

  • Successful completion of a diploma and/or degree in a related field from an accredited educational institution
  • A minimum of two (2) years of recent and relevant recruitment and selection experience
  • Applicants with proven equivalent recent and related training and experience may be considered

Preferred

  • Experience in a large, complex unionized environment; health care experience a definite asset

Skills and Knowledge

  • Customer service oriented with the proven ability to foster positive relationships, be solutions oriented, have keen attention to detail, and be effective at managing a high volume recruitment portfolio
  • Demonstrated ability to provide interpretation and explanation of Human Resources policies, collective agreements and relevant legislation
  • Proficient and creative using Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)
  • Experience with Human Resources Information Systems and Applicant Tracking Systems
  • Self-starter with the ability to work under pressure and maintain a positive and professional demeanor while meeting all deadlines, conflicting demands, and multiple priorities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the proven ability to clearly define and articulate requirements, priorities, impacts, and solutions
  • Must be discreet and demonstrate sound judgment, analytical ability, diplomacy and tact to deal effectively with internal and external stakeholders
  • Ability to accurately and efficiently compose a variety of recruitment and selection correspondence
  • Demonstrated satisfactory work performance and attendance history
