ADVISOR COMMUNICATIONS, MINERALS

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are looking for an Advisor – Communications to assist with the creation and delivery of content for Rio Tinto Minerals Communications campaigns and plans.

Reporting to the Manager, Communications, Minerals, and working in a challenging and exciting environment within the Minerals Communications and External Affairs team, you will:

  • Coordinate and closely manage the Minerals product group internal communications channels and maintain the various distribution lists.
  • Write copy and design our monthly communications (product group newsletter, organisational changes, safety bulletin) by collaborating with internal stakeholders, ensuring high-quality products and timely delivery
  • Work closely with asset communications leads and identify stories to amplify and share both internally and externally.
  • Coordinate and support the management of content for various channels such as the intranet and Viva Engage.
  • Track internal and external activities and provide recommendations for content amplification.
  • Support team in delivering communications plans on time while ensuring day-to-day communications needs are met.
  • Monitor internal mailboxes and other feedback channels; promptly respond to or escalate questions.
  • Coordinate and manage the monthly Minerals communications reporting. Support with managing the reporting platform (Monday.com) and ensure data is up to date.
  • Oversee all translation requests with external suppliers and proofread content written in English and French.
  • Create content and work in line with the company policies and Rio Tinto Brand guidelines and procedures, ensuring the highest level of quality, on-schedule delivery, safety and professionalism.

WHAT YOU WILL BRING

  • Degree in Bachelor of Communications or related discipline combined with three years of experience in the relevant field.
  • Fluent in French and English, both written and spoken. Rio Tinto is a global company, and the duties of this position require daily collaboration with colleagues, teams or partners based outside Quebec.
  • Demonstrate strong teamwork, communication, organisational and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience in content development, planning and knowledge of media production.
  • The capacity to come up with better ways of doing things and continuously strive for improvement.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic working environment and a diverse group of stakeholders
