We're looking to add one (1) Full Time Permanent Corporate Recruiter to our dynamic HR team at EPCOR, based in Edmonton AB.

As a skilled Corporate Recruiter passionate about talent sourcing, you'll play a crucial role in attracting and selecting top talent for our organization. You'll work closely with hiring managers, HR, and other stakeholders to fill unionized and non-unionized positions across various business units. If you're a natural problem solver who likes to think outside the box, you'll thrive in this role - you'll be responsible for identifying and resolving complex sourcing issues and contributing to a range of HR projects and initiatives.

This opportunity is open to Internal and External candidates, and is eligible for our Where We Work hybrid work program.

What you'd be responsible for

  • Partnering with hiring managers to understand staffing needs. Together you'll develop proactive and effective recruitment strategies for unionized and non-unionized positions.
  • Using all the tools in your recruiter toolbox to find top-tier talent (e.g., job boards, social media platforms, networking and industry events).
  • Conducting interviews, assessing candidate qualifications, and making recommendations to hiring managers.
  • Managing the end-to-end recruitment process, from posting job openings to extending offers to the newest members of Team EPCOR.
  • Building and maintaining a strong and diverse talent pipeline for future hiring needs.
  • Maintaining communication and relationships with union representatives related to recruitment and hiring.
  • Making sure we're compliant with company policies, legal requirements, and collective bargaining agreements for unionized positions.
  • Using the applicant tracking system (ATS) to manage candidate pipelines and keep recruitment records correct and current.
  • Coordinating and participating in job fairs, campus recruitment events, and other outreach initiatives to attract talent.
  • Providing regular updates to hiring managers and stakeholders on recruitment progress and challenges.
  • Mentoring and coaching hiring managers on recruitment processes and best practices.
  • Supporting hiring managers to find and place the best talent, whether it's an internal or external placement, and helping onboard our newest team members.
  • Providing exceptional candidate experiences throughout the recruitment process.

What's required to be successful

  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business or a related field. A combination of education and related experience may be considered.
  • Minimum 5 years of recruitment experience, preferably in a corporate setting.
  • Experience recruiting for both unionized and non-unionized positions.
  • Strong knowledge of employment laws, regulations and recruitment best practices such as behavioural-based interviews and candidate screening/assessment methodologies.
  • Experience conducting market research and developing recruitment strategies for hard-to-fill roles.
  • Certification in HR or Recruitment (such as CPHR) is a plus.
  • Experience using HRIS systems and applicant tracking systems for recruiting and reporting purposes.
  • Demonstrated ability to think outside the box and use social media and other non-traditional avenues to source and engage with candidates (including LinkedIn, Indeed, etc.).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
