Job description                                                                                                                                

The person in this role will primarily be responsible for writing and translating communications and media content for the Club. This position requires expertise in writing and translation to create engaging and audience-appropriate content, while reflecting the Club's image and values. The individual will also play a key role in administrative management, media activity coordination, and providing editorial support to staff and various departments.

Responsabilities

  • Write and edit content for the Club's communication materials, including articles, press releases, newsletters, and social media posts.
  • Translate documents and marketing content, including announcements, reports, and content for websites and match programs, while respecting the nuances and cultural specifics of each language.
  • Collaborate with marketing, communication, and public relations teams to ensure a consistent and professional presentation of Club information in all languages.
  • Conduct research to ensure the accuracy of information, statistics, and facts related to sports performance and Club history.
  • Participate in developing multilingual content strategies and provide recommendations to optimize international fan engagement.
  • Organize and archive documents systematically and confidentially.
  • Act as an administrative resource for the marketing and communication department.
  • Handle and communicate all media requests and availability for the first team.
  • Conduct daily media monitoring and recommend action strategies as needed.
  • Work with the media relations team to organize press conferences and other media initiatives.
  • Implement mechanisms, processes, and tools to improve efficiency (IT tools, tracking tools, centralized and secure tools).
  • Work closely with different departments to facilitate communication and ensure effective coordination of communications.
  • Represent CF Montréal at local and regional events, acting as an ambassador.
  • The position requires flexibility for schedules adapted to sporting events and the Club's needs.

Required qualifications         

  • Personality! Proactive, independent, solution-oriented, creative, and detail-oriented.
  • University degree in translation, journalism, communication, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Previous experience in writing and translation in the sports field or for a high-profile organization is an asset.
  • Familiarity with computer-assisted translation (CAT) tools and word processing software.
  • Excellent writing skills in the target language with a keen sense of creativity and stylistic adaptation.
  • Advanced proficiency in source and target languages, with the ability to translate sports terms and cultural expressions accurately and appropriately.
  • In-depth knowledge of the sports world, ideally in a professional context or sports environment.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a dynamic environment and meet tight deadlines.
  • Project management skills and coordination with multiple departments to ensure consistent content delivery.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in computer tools and the Office suite.
  • Discretion and respect for confidentiality.
  • Possess a valid passport.
  • The position requires regular travel to cover all home and away matches according to the schedule.
