The world relies on HPS to continually conceive and produce state-of-the-art transformer technology. We currently have an opening for a Sr. Manager, Segment Marketing, come grow with us!

Reporting to the VP, Marketing, this position is responsible for developing and implementing both short-term and long-term marketing strategies for select market segments. A critical aspect of this role involves gaining a deep understanding of current market dynamics and anticipating future needs specific to these segments. This insight will enable the organization to identify unmet needs and integrate them into our product roadmaps. Additionally, the role encompasses managing the product introduction process and enhancing the capabilities of our sales team to effectively target and sell within these segments.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Develop deep understanding of the segment needs, including end-user and stakeholder needs as well as macro/micro trends affecting identified segments.
  • Monitor and analyze customer data, feedback, surveys, and market research to identify opportunities to add value and drive customer loyalty and advocacy.
  • Collaboration and participation in the Category Product Teams team to develop the foresight and strategy for the segments.
  • Work closely with Sales, Product Management, and Marcom to lead the marketing, product roadmaps and product introduction activities in specified segments.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including sales and marketing, to identify and address segment needs and enhance customer satisfaction.
  • Support sales, marketing communications and product teams, and PQ Business Units ensuring consistent messaging / positioning in the market.
  • Develop and implement segment-centric educational programs for employees across different departments, ensuring a consistent and positive customer experience at all touchpoints.
  • Work with HPS Sales and Marketing team to continually improve and refine educational curriculum made available for agent and professional distributor sales teams.
  • Define, based on an understanding of the market, its focus segments, value chains and key trends and drivers, the segment marketing strategy, and the innovative concepts to fulfill these needs.
  • Develop and deploy 5-year segment strategy and 1-year annual operating plan as inputs for the corporate strategy and annual marketing planning.
  • Identify go-to market strategies for the segment to accelerate growth in that segment. This requires establishing and executing an Annual Marketing Plan.
  • Prepare regular reports and presentations for senior management, providing insights into segment trends and metrics.

Do you qualify? We are seeking:

  • Bachelor's degree with a major in Marketing, Business or equivalent.
  • Minimum 6+ years of proven experience in a marketing strategy role within a B2B organization.
  • Has a track record of seeking, interpreting and communicating information on customers, segments and competitors to improve the business.
  • Has demonstrated ability to assess and implement new ideas and product/program improvements through the eyes of the customer/segment.
  • Proven ability to manage the evolution of products/programs and/or services to meet future customer needs.
  • This role is expected to travel roughly 20% of the time to locations in both the US and Canada.
  • The preference for this position is to work out of Guelph, ON.
