THE ROLE

Joining the Performance Department (performance marketing) as our Performance Manager, you'll be responsible for driving project excellence in Performance Programs by implementing growth strategies, solving complex problems, and fostering team development to ensure that Thrive remains an industry leader in performance marketing. You'll oversee the long-term success of high-complexity Tier 1 workflows and manage key relationships for larger Tier 2 projects, while also supporting revenue growth opportunities focused on performance services.

Your focus will of responsibilities will be:

  • Domain: Recognized as a leader in performance marketing at Thrive, you solve client challenges with innovative solutions, advocate for team member career growth, and contribute to agency-wide thought leadership in your area of expertise.
  • Client: Improve and redefine client success standards at Thrive by championing exceptional client service. Solve client and project issues with performance marketing solutions and provide advice on workflow and resource management.
  • People: Enhance the Performance department's expertise by mentoring and managing team members, and contributing to their development through upskilling, training content, workshops, and other company resources.
  • Company: Make significant contributions to people and projects within the Performance department by solving complex problems, coordinating support, and aligning with stakeholders. Use performance marketing expertise to enhance organizational initiatives and support company goals.

We're committed to delivering an exceptional onboarding experience that will create a strong foundation for your launch in this role:

  • In your first 30 days you'll familiarize yourself with Thrive's tools and processes and begin onboarding to projects and teams across your department, identifying performance opportunities and building relationships.
  • In your first 60 days you'll be playing an active role across projects, collaborating with teams on day to day and longer term account initiatives. You'll begin developing processes and strategies to improve team and project success and sharing key insights with others.
  • In your first 90 days you'll be stepping into account leadership opportunities, providing support across project planning, strategy, client partnerships and team skills development. You'll begin collaborating with senior stakeholders across the company, leveraging your experience to provide valuable feedback and move initiatives forward.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • You have executed, planned and maintained high complexity performance marketing accounts of
  • $500k USD media spend per month at a consistently positive ROI for the client across multiple platforms at a time including Meta, Google Ads, YouTube, Display, Programmatic Platforms, TikTok, Twitter, Spotify and other platforms.
  • You have led and mobilized groups of team members of 5-10 people and have contributed to the development of multiple junior (specialist) team members through direct management, training, strategic guidance and project leadership to the point of developing them to management level or above.
  • You have advanced analytical skills and are experienced in using visualization tools like Google Sheets, Excel, Google Data Studio, Tableau or similar platforms to pull, sort, analyze and draw insight from ad platforms, analytics, and / or business intelligence tools. You've created or customized marketing dashboards and automated views to improve reporting efficiency and maintain focus on key objectives and kpis.
  • You've created or collaborated on at least one internal initiative or process that has been adopted and utilized company-wide and has directly contributed to leveling up performance or project standards across your organization.
  • You've managed performance media across a range of business verticals and sizes (ecommerce, lead gen, etc), and have been responsible for pacing, forecasting and reporting the impact of performance media on overarching business goals and have trained others through that process and communicate this work to clients up to C-Suite executive level.
  • You have successfully led complex client relationships involving multiple stakeholders of ranging seniority levels via weekly touchpoint meetings, quarterly business presentations and asynchronous communication channels (slack, email, asana, etc).
  • You've successfully coordinated internal team efforts across multiple client initiatives including promotions, rebuilds, strategic reviews and in depth account audits. You've resolved difficult stakeholder situations, keeping priorities organized and objectives aligned and have consistently received buy-in on strategic proposals or deliverables.
  • You have effectively communicated with clients and trained internal team members on marketing concepts such as incrementality, KPI selection, attribution and business economics and have incorporated marketing measurement considerations into your strategic approaches.
