Job Title: Event Marketing Manager
Location: Our head office is located in Edmonton, Alberta. Ideally, this role would be based in Edmonton, although it is not required. This is a hybrid role that will work a combination of in-office, remote, and on our event sites throughout the year, as required.
Employment Type: Permanent, Full-Time Salaried
Travel Required: The successful candidate must be willing to travel across North America for up to 20 days of the year during event weekends.
Hours: While our standard work week is 40 hours per week, the successful candidate must be comfortable with extended working hours during various parts of the year.

The Role
Reporting to our Visionary/Marketing Director, the primary role of the Event Marketing Manager position is to create and implement effective marketing strategies and tactics that align with the overall vision of Trixstar and the Great Outdoors Comedy Festival.
Once these strategies have been established, this role will be responsible for overseeing and executing on the specific marketing tactics that will enable us to accomplish our strategic direction and maximize ticket sales across a wide range of channels. This will include local media buys, artist marketing, digital marketing, content & communications as well as overseeing and allocating marketing budgets and spends.
The Marketing Manager will play a central role in driving brand awareness, engaging our audience, and, ultimately, selling tickets to our events. This role requires a creative and strategic thinker with a strong track record in event marketing and a deep understanding of all marketing channels.
Key Responsibilities
The key responsibilities of the Event Marketing Manager include, but are not limited to:
1. Marketing Strategy:
Develop and implement comprehensive marketing strategies aligned with company goals and budgets to maximize ticket sales.
Research, plan, budget and implement creative ?outside of the box' marketing opportunities to generate awareness and buzz for our events.
Analyze market trends, consumer insights, and competition to identify opportunities and threats.
Set clear marketing objectives and KPIs, track performance, and make data-driven adjustments as needed.
Develop and execute marketing plans to promote artists and their work.
2. Local Media Buys:
Plan and execute local media advertising campaigns across North America, including radio, TV, print, influencers, OOH and more.
Negotiate media buys and partnerships to maximize exposure and ROI.
Monitor campaign performance and optimize media spend for effectiveness.
3. Content Creation:
Oversee the Content & Communications team to ensure we are using the most effective communication channels and tools to keep in contact with our customers. Some of these tools and channels include our websites, CRM, databases, newsletters, surveys, Apps, integrations, etc.
Oversee and provide direction on various ad scripts and copy.
4. Social Media:
Oversee the content & communications team who are responsible for the company's social media presence and strategies, including content creation, community management, engagement, and analytics.
5. Artist Marketing:
Manage Artist assets and approvals.
Coordinate with each Artist's management team to create compelling marketing content and/or PR.
Drive Artist branding and awareness through various channels.
6. Misc:
Coordination of Photographers and Videographers for events, as required:
Management or oversight of some of the various marketing functions that are outsourced to third party contractors and companies.
Various event execution roles as required by this position.
Track marketing spends with event budgets.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Marketing, Business, or a related field is an asset, but not required.
Proven experience in Event and Artist Marketing Management, with a minimum of 5 years in a similar role.
Flexible schedule, with the ability to work some early mornings, evenings or weekends to meet deadlines.
Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills.
Proficiency in marketing analytics and reporting tools.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with high attention to detail.
Ability to manage multiple projects and teams simultaneously.
Creative mindset with a keen eye for design and branding.
Strong understanding of current marketing trends and best practices.
Experience with any of the following would be considered an asset is this role but is not required: Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Canva, Google Docs, Google Sheets, Basecamp, Wordpress, Web Flow, Sprout Social, Audience Republic, Meta, X, Snapchat, LinkedIn, Tik Tok, etc.
Ensure a positive work environment for the management and event teams.
This role requires travel flexibility across North America for events and various meetings.
