Autism Nova Scotia delivers programming in Halifax and in nine communities across Nova Scotia through our Regional Autism Centres. Our three program divisions are: Social & Community Inclusion; Employment Support; and Family and Caregiver Support.

POSITION TITLE: BRANDING & GRAPHIC DESIGN SPECIALIST

POSITION DETAILS: FULL TIME 1 YEAR TERM

POSITION LOCATION: HALIFAX

POSITION START DATE: 11/4/2024

Overview :

The Branding & Graphic Design Specialist is responsible for supporting Autism Nova Scotia's brand and visual presence through creative design, branding, and marketing. This role reports to the Branding & Communications Manager.

Objectives:

Create Autism Nova Scotia's marketing and communications materials including brochures, logos, posters, reports, social media and website graphics, large- and small-scale signage, and advertisements

Support Autism Nova Scotia's reputation and image for consistency across external channels, including social media, website and marketing collateral

Develop all promotional material required for fundraising events, including slideshows, signage and print and digital pieces

Provide creative and design expertise to lead creative direction on projects and assignments required by the organization and prioritized by Branding & Communications Manager

Oversee branding guidelines and brand identity

Responsibilities:

Maintain Autism Nova Scotia's website graphics and visual content

Assess, prioritize, and fulfil creative briefs and design assignment requests

Provide high quality files (print or digital ready) to appropriate vendors/team members while maintaining project timelines and edits

Monitor and update internal design requests

Communicate with staff members to ensure deadlines are met

Assist with photo and/or video editing as needed

Qualifications:

Three to five years of experience in design and marketing, demonstrating proficiency in graphic design, with a track record of leadership in creative design initiatives.

Diploma or degree from a recognized graphic design/visual arts program.

Proficient in industry design software including Adobe Creative Suite, Cloud Applications (e.g. MailChimp) and Website Content Management Systems (e.g. WordPress).

Strong understanding of identity branding, with a passion for enhancing brand engagement.

Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment.

Detail-oriented with a proven ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a busy environment.

Design leadership skills with ability to work independently and make executive design decisions.

Extensive knowledge of layout and print production processes.

Employment Requirement
