Reporting into the Vice President PC Services, the Director of Marketing will support three growth categories: PC Telecom (The Mobile Shop, PC Mobile and No Name Mobile), PC Insurance & The Gift of Choice. This is a critical role responsible for driving profitable growth through marketing programs and communications across the end-to-end customer journey. This role will lead, in partnership with the business, the strategic planning process, acting as a leader with vision for each of the Category Leads, making recommendations for how the business will move forward, and crafting the plan.

The successful candidate will be a strategic marketer who can transform business goals and customer insights into concrete strategies, programs, and initiatives to drive customer growth in year and long term.

What you'll do

  • Marketing Communications: Own the overall end-to-end strategy to drive growth against key performance indicators (KPIs). Lead all aspects of the development of the overall marketing across the full funnel including: In-store, Display, Social, Website, Email, and Owned Channels. Optimize performance to build The Mobile Shop, PC Mobile, No Name Mobile, PC Insurance and the Gift of Choice brands, generate leads, and drive customer growth. Lead efforts to drive integration with Loblaw Control Brand, PC Optimum, and Retail to cross-promote. Partner with our Digital team to optimize website messaging based on existing and emerging services (i.e. ecommerce & curbside pick-up).

  • Marketing Strategy: Collaborate & partner with all business leads to structure and solve strategic problems and develop compelling cases. Take a leadership role in PC Services annual strategic planning process. Develop a quarterly and annual strategy for PC Services that demonstrates how activities are supporting our strategic plan and delivering on our annual KPIs.

  • Lifecycle Strategy: Lead the full customer journey for existing customers; using customer insights, analytics, and automation to stimulate repeat purchase, loyalty, and advocacy. Partner with digital messaging (email & SMS) subject matter experts to drive execution.

  • Relationship Management: Establish and nurture partnerships with cross-functional teams in the Product Management, Sales, Data, Analytics & Insights, Loyalty and Digital teams to drive customer growth. Responsible for maintaining the relationships with creative agencies externally and internally to ensure best-in-class programs that drive brand building and performance.

  • Leadership: Coach and lead a team while fostering a collaborative, engaging, and high-performance environment. Promote a culture that is focused on using customer insights, analytics, and testing to drive continuous improvement. Lead program prioritization, balancing return on ad spend vs. effort.

What you bring

  • University degree with a specialization in Marketing, Business, or Commerce OR equivalent
  • 10+ years of dynamic experience in leading marketing teams, preferably in the telecommunication, retail and/or insurance industries
  • Ideally 3+ years building strategies for executive level audiences
  • Demonstrated experience influencing peers, leading projects, guiding cross functional teams, providing thought leadership, interacting, and communicating with senior partners
  • Ability to build effective and trusting relationships across matrixed organizations
  • Customer centric view with experience mapping customer communication journeys and partnering to build CRM tools
  • Track record of building, leading, empowering and inspiring a team
  • Track record of growing customer bases by optimizing marketing budgets and channels in a variety of subject areas including digital marketing, email marketing, in-store marketing, product marketing and mass media
  • Capable of translating business goals and customer insights into strategies that are achievable
  • Excellent communications and storytelling skills; capable of influencing senior leaders and secure alignment that is required to move strategies forward
  • Proven track record of prioritizing marketing opportunities based on effort and ROI while collaborating with partners in the process
