The Granite Club is looking for a Communications Lead who will support the following: Produce magazines. Write creative promotions. Curate email campaigns. Create beautiful content. Enjoy variety and creativity in your work while satisfying your core need for keeping things highly organized. The Communications Lead supports the Communications & Creative Director and works in close collaboration with the fun and energetic Communications Team. We're looking for an expert-level writer, eagle-eyed editor, and agile project manager to help coordinate the day-to-day activities of the department. You will be the go-to for a wide range of digital and print collateral in an integral consulting role for internal clients all throughout the building.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Department coordination: Manage project intake and day-to-day processes; ensure consistency, organization, and alignment with communications and brand standards
  • Content creation & curation: Write and edit creative articles, engaging promotions, technical documents, and compelling messaging for all audiences across print, digital, and social platforms; offer creative and branding direction; ensure accuracy and consistent messaging across all channels
  • Proofreading: Meticulously edit and proofread using Granite Club voice, style, brand, and formatting standards; maintain excellent continuity and context throughout all collateral
  • Magazine production: Manage editorial processes for regular print magazines, from ideation to the press; select and edit photos and other media; help coordinate photo shoots
  • Digital production: Working with the Digital Content Specialist, oversee website, social media, digital signage, intranet, and other digital properties to ensure brand alignment, consistency, accuracy, and optimal user experience; help maintain and enhance online presence
  • Communications consulting: Work with 25+ internal departments to gather and coordinate messaging; advise on best practices and standards; develop and execute annual marketing calendars; become subject matter expert on all things Granite
  • And more: Look forward to special assignments and projects that shake up the routine and add to your portfolio; other duties will be added, deleted or assigned as needed
  • Required Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Education: Degree in communications, marketing, PR, English, or related field
  • Experience: Min. 4 to 6 years hands-on professional experience as part of a marketing/communications team
  • Meticulous attention to detail, accuracy, and consistency (this is essential to the role)
  • Organizational skills, superior time-management and process-driven planning to achieve big-picture objectives; excellent multitasking abilities; highly accountable and takes ownership; experience in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • Writing & editing: Exceptional writing, copy editing, and proofreading skills; expert-level grammatical knowledge; wide range of writing styles (creative, technical, business, promotional, etc.); experience working with a style guide and maintaining brand voice
  • People skills: Exemplary interpersonal and customer service skills; positive attitude and demonstrated success liaising with stakeholders at all levels of the organization and externally; experience coaching colleagues toward their own success
  • Curiosity and resourcefulness; you love to research, learn, and problem-solve
  • Software savvy: Asana for project/task management; Microsoft 365 suite; Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Acrobat); Sprout Social; ability to learn new software quickly
  • Web savvy: Content management systems and email campaign platforms; basic HTML/CSS; basic familiarity with web design and development principles, usability/UX and web best practices
  • Social media savvy: Instagram, Linkedin; experience creating strategic and engaging content; strong understanding of individual platforms and evolving best practices
  • Creative savvy: Keen eye for visual aesthetic and branding

Work Schedule:

  • Monday-Friday, 9:00 am-5:00 pm with some variance; occasional after-hours work required
  • Hybrid work model with 3 days in office as per Club-wide preassigned days.
