POSITION OVERVIEW :
The Globe and Mail is seeking a junior Front-End Developer specializing in Marketing to join our Customer Experience Management (CEM) team, to use data to drive improvements across different marketing channels. The role necessitates in-depth knowledge of site optimization through A/B testing, proficiency in HTML, JavaScript/jQuery, React, and experience in KPI development.
The successful candidate will have a proven ability to collaborate with internal business stakeholders to understand their needs and provide actionable recommendations. Key to this role is the capacity not only to execute, measure, and analyze experiments but also to deliver insights that lead to meaningful enhancements in The Globe's digital presence and its revenue pillars, including subscription, registration, and retention.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Analyze digital media usage to identify opportunities to optimize digital media investments and marketing effectiveness with internal analytical tools
- Manage end-to-end front-end testing cycle from mockups to development, to testing and initiating the deployments of winners
- Recommend/implement actions to improve key metrics for all customer engagement programs (across all marketing channels)
- Understand A/B testing tools and internal applications/systems and effectively translate this knowledge into solutions that automate processes and increase our ability to dynamically personalize customer and prospect communications
- Assist subject matter experts from other departments in seeing the impact and value of content and design strategies with data-driven analysis.
- Support database marketing and multiple channel campaign management efforts (email, web campaigns, or mobile)
- Provide insights to help inform Marketing, Engagement, Product Management, Sales and Retention strategies
TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS :
- Strong HTML, JavaScript/jQuery CSS and SQL skills
- Knowledge of relational data base technologies (i.e., Oracle, SQL Server etc.), and data hygiene
- Experience with React, Vue.js, Python, bash is an asset
- Understanding of Web and Mobile Analytics tools (Tableau, Amplitude, Omniture/Adobe Campaign, Google Analytics is a plus)
- Knowledge of/experience with A/B Testing tools and campaign platforms (Target, or Optimizely is a plus)
- Knowledge of/experience with schedulers (Airflow) for automated task management
- Experience in integrating 3rd?party node libraries. (i.e.,?node-soap?and?node-oracledb)
QUALIFICATIONS :
- Major in computer science or a related discipline in Information Systems and Analytics
- 2+ years minimum experience performing database analysis, marketing analysis, financial analysis, or similar related database analysis, and experience with direct marketing channels (email, online, mobile)
- Experience working in an analytics/data-driven role(s), collaborating with analytics, brand, traditional marketing, on-line marketing, digital and interactive marketing teams to drive marketing effectiveness across an enterprise
