OASW is seeking a dynamic and experienced individual to assume the role of Communications and Marketing Specialist on a 12-month contract. In this position, you will develop, project manage, execute and measure communications and marketing tactics and strategies to promote OASW’s brand, member engagement, and support the success of organizational programs, services and initiatives.
Your role will extend to managing the organization’s social media presence, executing digital campaigns, and supporting event planning and production.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support the development and implementation of communications and marketing strategies to promote the profession, foster member engagement, and promote the success of OASW’s programs, services, and initiatives.
- Coordinate and manage the organization’s email communications calendar.
- Draft, format and distribute email communications using an HTML email editor (Mailchimp).
- Support the development of strategies and tactics to improve audience segmentation and targeting.
- Support the development and execution of the Association’s social media strategy.
- Manage the organization’s social media content calendar.
- Lead social media monitoring, content curation, content development, and publishing.
- Develop and implement paid social media content and advertising campaigns, as needed.
- Support the development, management and updating of OASW’s website content.
- Lead the development and implementation of marketing plans and tactics to promote OASW’s professional development offerings, networking programs, awards program, volunteer recruitment, and other key benefits, programs and services.
- Develop graphics in line with OASW’s brand standards to support the execution of communications and marketing plans.
- Support the planning and implementation of OASW’s annual Social Work Week and Social Work Month campaign, including leading the execution of key aspects of the campaign’s marketing, outreach and digital components.
- Support the development of the Association’s Annual Report, including project coordination, data collection, content development, design and distribution.
- Support the planning, execution, and production of OASW’s corporate events, as required.
- Support the coordination of translation needs.
- Lead the tracking and reporting of key communications and marketing metrics.
QUALIFICATIONS
- University degree or college diploma in communications, public relations, marketing or related field of study.
- Minimum 4 years of experiencein a similar role.
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
- Superior copywriting skills.
- Strong sense of design and experience developing graphics for email, social media, websites and other digital platforms.
- Demonstrated skills and experience in project management.
- Demonstrated success in developing and implementing marketing plans and tactics.
- Experience working cross-functionally to support multiple departments and initiatives.
- Strong organizational skills, including the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
- Committed to ongoing learning, professional growth, and development opportunities.
- Experience with iMIS or other CRMs, HTML email marketing platforms (MailChimp), design software (Adobe, Canva), social media / social media management platforms, web content management systems, Google Analytics, HTML, Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel, online survey platforms, and Asana or other project management programs will be considered an asset.
- Experience in a non-profit organization, the social work or social services sectors, or a membership association will be considered an asset.
- French verbal and written communication skills will be considered an asset.
- Ability to work in a virtual environment and travel regularly (typically 2 days per week) to the main office in Toronto.
Reports to: Manager, Communications and Marketing
Salary: $70,000
Contract: 12 months, with potential for renewal
