Title: Design & Communications Coordinator

Pay Range: $27 / hr

Hours: Part Time 20-30 hrs/ week, 3-month probation and review

Description

We are looking for a passionate Visual Design and Communications professional to help us amplify our message, engage our audiences, and elevate our brand presence across various channels. The role would involve creating compelling visual content and coordinating communications surrounding our story, outcomes and needs. This role requires a creative professional who can work independently and collaboratively with our fund development team and stakeholders.

Duties & Responsibilities (Outcomes to be monitored quarterly)

Visual Design

  • Develop visual assets for digital and print media, including social media graphics, infographics, brochures, reports, presentations, and website content.
  • Develop compelling storytelling content that aligns with our organisational values and objectives, in collaboration with the team.
  • Create and maintain brand guidelines to ensure consistency across all visual and written materials.
  • Manage social media content creation and posts, ensuring the story clearly illustrates SCP's vision, values, needs and goals.
  • Maintain SCP websites, updating content as needed.
  • Stay current with design trends, tools, and industry best practices to innovate and improve our visual communications.

Communications Coordination

  • Collaborate with the team to design and execute integrated communication strategies and campaigns.
  • Coordinate communications and stewardship that the team has with possible donors, funders, partners and supporters.
  • Manage stewardship follow up communications through emails, letters, social media and website posts.
  • Research potential donors the team has targeted and provide the team with visual marketing materials to communicate SCP's story in a way that is meaningful to that individual or individuals.

Qualifications (Education & Experience)

  • Proven experience (3+ years) in visual design, graphic design, or a related field.
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating expertise in digital and print design, brand development, and multimedia content creation
  • Proficiency in design software such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, After Effects, etc.).
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex ideas visually and verbally.
  • Strong project management skills, with a demonstrated ability to prioritise, multitask, and meet deadlines.
  • Familiarity with social media platforms, content management systems, and website development.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote or hybrid environment.
  • Passion for supporting young people in the community.

Requirements (Skills & Competencies)

  • Knowledge of accessibility standards for digital content.
  • Experience with web design and basic HTML/CSS.
  • Familiarity with analytics tools to measure the effectiveness of visual content.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, meeting deadlines and maintaining high-quality standards.
  • Adaptable and open to changing needs.
  • Strong ability and interest in working collaboratively.
  • Organisation and coordination skills are strong.
  • Skilled at using design to communicate a message.
