JOB DESCRIPTION

Are you a creative storyteller with a passion for sports and social media? As our Social Media Coordinator, you'll be at the forefront of our digital content, crafting engaging content that resonates with our audience and community. You'll be responsible for managing our social media presence, building connections within our community, and driving engagement across all platforms.

The Social Media Coordinator will play a crucial role in developing and executing our social media strategy. You will be responsible for creating, curating, and managing content across various social media platforms, engaging with our community, and supporting broader communication efforts. This role requires creativity, organizational skills, and a passion for digital storytelling.

  • Develop and execute content with both short-term and long-term focus: help innovate the content process and own a communications strategy.
  • Own our tone of voice and see it creatively expressed through MLSE Foundation and MLSE LaunchPad social channels.
  • Support event execution Engage in planning and executing onsite coverage for events for MLSE Foundation and MLSE LaunchPad.
  • Build relationships with key stakeholders that require your collaboration to improve our content practices and keep it on brand/message/strategy.
  • Update key content pieces including impact numbers, facility information, and storytelling collateral to share internally and externally.
  • Maintain an understanding of investments and programs to communicate knowledgeably and enthusiastically about the work of our organization.
  • Keep inspired and up to date on best practices, new practices, and innovative ideas, both inside and outside of our sector.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 1 year creating social media content.
  • Experience working with youth, for a non-profit or in a Sport for Development organization are all considered assets.
  • Experience in the field of Marketing or Communications is considered an asset.
  • Experience working with people of all ages and cultural backgrounds.
  • Experience working collaboratively with cross-functional teams such as writers, designers, marketers, and developers to brainstorm ideas, coordinate content creation, and ensure alignment with overall marketing initiatives.
  • You're a creator. Regardless of the medium - word, visual, photo, video - you're born to make things and make them great. Multi-varied creative skills preferred.
  • Ability to develop and implement content strategies aligned with organizational goals and audience needs.
  • Experience building and executing social content strategies.
  • Write, edit, and proofread content, including blog posts, social media updates, newsletters, and marketing materials.
  • Ability to interact with diverse communities and community organizations with high energy and professionalism.
  • Versatile and willing to work with changing priorities with enthusiasm.
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Canva, Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as required.
