Ruth and Naomi's Mission is a Christian faith-based organization with a vision and commitment to see the lives of people experiencing homelessness, poverty, and struggling with addiction transformed by the love of God. To assist in this work, we are looking for a Community Engagement Coordinator.

With direction from the Director of Operations, the Community Engagement Coordinator is primarily responsible for planning and executing all of our events, including major fundraisers, donor luncheons, and our presence at community events. Additionally, they will develop communication highlighting the work Ruth & Naomi's Mission does, prepare communications for donors, and manage our online presence. We are seeking a motivated, creative individual with strong communication skills, extensive event planning experience, and a heart for our mission. The ideal candidate will be eager to engage with the community and find innovative ways to expand Ruth & Naomi's Mission's presence.

Job Description and Duties

  • Plan and execute all of Ruth & Naomi's Mission's events, including major fundraisers, donor luncheons, and community events
  • Coordinate communications with vendors, community partners, and staff for external events
  • Oversee social media strategy for all Ruth & Naomi's Mission's social media accounts, directing someone else who will execute the posts
  • Generate donor impact reports with support from the Director of Development
  • Conduct interviews with clients, staff, and external partners for content creation
  • Execute the overall marketing strategy developed by the Director of Development
  • Improve and maintain website infrastructure
  • Provide support for fundraising campaigns
  • Produce written communications for various functions as directed
  • Engage with the community to identify opportunities for increasing Ruth & Naomi's Mission's presence and impact
  • Other tasks as assigned

Assets & Experience

  • Proven experience in event management (this is a key requirement)
  • Education in event planning, marketing, communications, or a related field preferred
  • Excellent professional communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Basic graphic design, print media, and CRM software experience
  • Strong knowledge of digital marketing tools (experience with MailChimp and Squarespace an asset)
  • Eagerness to engage with the community and expand Ruth & Naomi's Mission's presence
