Position Job Title: Social Media and Community Management Specialist

Location: CCTB - Vancouver, Onsite Monday to Friday 8:00am - 5:00pm PST

Reports To: Associate Director, Social Media Marketing

Salary: $50,000/ Annually and Benefit package

This role will also support the Toronto School of Management's community management initiatives.

Job Summary:

The Social Media and Community Management Specialist will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to enhance CCTB's social media presence, engage with our online community, and promote our brand across various digital platforms. This role will work closely with the social media intern to create engaging content and support community management efforts for Canadian College of Technology and Business (CCTB). The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of social media trends, excellent communication skills, and a passion for building and nurturing online communities.

Key Responsibilities:

Social Media Management:

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive social media strategy to increase brand awareness and engagement for CCTB.
  • Create, curate, and manage high-quality, engaging content for CCTB's social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram, YouTube, etc.).
  • Monitor social media channels for industry trends, competitor activities, and audience feedback.
  • Analyze social media metrics and generate reports to assess the effectiveness of campaigns and strategies.
  • Work closely with the social media intern to brainstorm, plan, and create engaging content for CCTB's social media platforms.
  • Provide guidance, feedback, and support to the intern to enhance their skills and contributions
Community Engagement:
  • Foster a positive and engaging online community by interacting with followers, responding to comments and messages, and addressing inquiries and concerns in a timely manner.
  • Develop and implement initiatives to increase community engagement, including contests, polls, and live events for CCTB.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, including marketing, admissions, and student services, to promote events, programs, and achievements.

Content Creation and Management:

  • Plan and create a content calendar that aligns with CCTB's goals and marketing initiatives.
  • Produce visually appealing and on-brand graphics, videos, and written content for social media posts.
  • Ensure all content adheres to CCTB's brand guidelines and maintains a consistent voice and tone.

Event Promotion:

  • Promote CCTB's events, webinars, and workshops through social media channels.
  • Host Instagram Live sessions to provide real-time updates during events, enhancing online community engagement.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in social media management, community engagement, or a related role.
  • Proven track record of growing and engaging social media audiences.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in social media management tools (e.g., Hootsuite, Buffer, Sprout Social).
  • Experience with graphic design tools (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, Canva) and video editing software.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret social media metrics.
  • Creative thinker with the ability to generate innovative ideas and solutions.
  • Knowledge of SEO and content marketing principles is a plus.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
