Job Summary
The Marketing and Creative Manager will lead a skilled team of five direct reports across graphic design, product photography, catalogue/print production, website management, social media, digital marketing, and showroom/display product merchandising. Reporting to the General Manager and serving on the management team, this role combines hands-on work with strategic leadership.
As a hands-on manager, you will be directly involved in creating marketing content and executing campaigns alongside your team. You will provide creative direction, ensure brand consistency, and play a key role in the company's overall marketing strategy. This position is ideal for a leader who enjoys rolling up their sleeves, working collaboratively, and contributing to both day-to-day marketing operations and high-level decision-making.

Key Responsibilities
- Leadership & Team Management: Lead, mentor, and manage a cross-functional team of five direct reports across various marketing functions.
- Hands-On Contribution: In addition to overseeing the team, actively participate in the creation of marketing content when needed. Be ready to step in and help execute projects alongside your team.
- Management Role: Collaborate with the management team, providing marketing insights and creative direction to drive company strategy.
- Creative Direction: Provide creative vision and direction for branding, product photography, catalogues, website content, social media, and other digital and print assets. Ensure visual consistency across all channels and lead creative initiatives related to Abbott's brand refresh.
- Project Management: Oversee the end-to-end management of marketing projects, ensuring timely delivery, quality output, and efficient use of resources. Balance hands-on work with team management responsibilities.
- Brand Stewardship: Uphold and evolve Abbott's brand standards, working closely with the General Manager and management team to ensure all marketing materials reflect the brand's core values of creativity, reliability, and customer-centricity.
- Campaign Development: Plan, develop, and execute integrated marketing campaigns that drive customer engagement and sales, while supporting the broader company goals.
- Digital & Print Expertise: Oversee website management, social media, and digital marketing strategies while ensuring effective execution of print for catalogues, flyers, and product packaging.
- Showroom & Display Oversight: Work with our product merchandising stylist to develop and implement inspiring showroom displays that reflect our brand values and create an engaging customer experience. Occasional travel is required.
- Market & Trend Research: Monitor industry trends and competitor strategies to ensure Abbott's offerings remain innovative and aligned with market demand. Leverage data-driven insights to analyze marketing performance and provide actionable strategy adjustments for optimal results.
- Analysis & Reporting: Utilize strong Excel and analytical skills to manage and analyze data from various reports. Evaluate product performance and trends to determine which products should be featured across marketing channels and showrooms.
Qualifications and Skills
- 5+ years of expertise in marketing, with at least 2 years in a leadership role managing multi-disciplinary teams.
- Post-secondary education is an asset.
- Proven experience in a creative direction and hands-on execution of marketing projects.
- Experience collaborating with sales teams to create materials and strategies that align with business goals.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, graphic design software (Adobe Creative Suite), digital marketing platforms (Google Analytics, social media management tools), and website management systems.
- Solid understanding of print production processes and catalogue design, with the ability to step in and contribute directly when needed.
- Hands-on mentality, with the ability to balance high-level strategy with direct involvement in day-to-day tasks.
- Interpret data and make informed decisions ensuring optimal product placement and alignment with marketing strategies.
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English with the ability to present creative concepts and marketing strategies.
- A collaborative and strategic leader, able to guide a team while working side-by-side to meet goals.
- Knowledge of the home décor and giftware industry is a plus but not required.
