The Canada-Newfoundland and Labrador Offshore Petroleum Board (or C-NLOPB, soon to be the Canada-Newfoundland and Labrador Offshore Energy Regulator (C-NLOER - see below) invites applications for the position of Digital Communications Coordinator.
Reporting to the Director of Communications and Public Engagement, the Digital Communications Coordinator:
- Develops and edits website content
- Coordinates translation of content for the C-NLOPB French website
- Assists with the development and maintenance of content for C-NLOPB social media accounts
- Monitors the C-NLOPB's online presence and reputation
- Assists with strategic communications, including the design and execution of communications plans, consultation plans and stakeholder engagement
- Assists with the development of internal communications, including the organization of staff town halls
- Supports the development of communications-related procedures for the C-NLOPB's Business Management System
- Assists with communications elements of the C-NLOPB's emergency response plan
- Carries out other related duties assigned as required
What we are looking for:
- Degree or diploma in public relations, communications or a related discipline
- Skills and know-how in social media/digital communications, including analytic tools
- Ability to distill complex information into clear, concise and compelling messaging
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills
- Proficiency in graphic design tools, such as Canva or Adobe Photoshop would be an asset
- Proficiency in WordPress would be an asset
- Proficiency in French would be an asset

The Canada-Newfoundland and Labrador Offshore Petroleum Board (C-NLOPB) currently regulates petroleum-related activities in the Canada-Newfoundland and Labrador Offshore Area on behalf of the federal and provincial governments. We provide regulatory oversight in the areas of worker health and safety, environmental protection, resource management and Canada-Newfoundland and Labrador benefits.
Federal legislation that recently received Royal Assent will be mirrored by the provincial government to expand our mandate to include offshore renewable energy projects as the Canada-Newfoundland and Labrador Offshore Energy Regulator (C-NLOER).
