POSITION OVERVIEW

CBSR's mission is to connect and empower Canadian businesses to advance and amplify social and environmental leadership and ambition. CBSR's Marketing and Communication Manager will take the lead on developing and delivering CBSR's marketing and communications plans, ensuring all external communications match our brand, vision, and objectives. You will work closely with CBSR's Executive Director and Director of Programming, as well as other members of Profoundry's marketing communications team. You'll manage CBSR's marketing campaigns to support key initiatives and promotions, develop compelling content across channels, and create effective programs for communicating with our Members.

Our ideal candidate will be a savvy B2B communicator with excellent writing abilities and experience with virtual and in-person events, email campaigns, and social media. This is a unique opportunity to make a difference and requires someone with strategic chops who can roll up their sleeves and get things done.

RESPONSIBILITIES :

Communication and Marketing

  • Develop and implement marketing strategies and programs that drive Member acquisition, retention, and engagement.
  • Write clear creative briefs and campaign plans to fuel regular communications via social media, email, digital advertising, video, speaking engagements, website, and events.
  • Manage and distribute campaign deliverables, ensuring all materials (including email content, landing pages, sales aids, online ads, collateral, videos, and social media posts) are ready on time and on budget.
  • Contribute to regular updates to the CBSR website and Member portal.
  • Create and disseminate mass emails through CBSR's email campaign platform (Zoho Campaigns).
  • Support the annual promotion of the Sustainable Procurement Fellowship and other key initiatives.
  • Establish and track KPIs and metrics with the goal of continually improving marketing program effectiveness.

Virtual & In-person Events

  • Support the design, project coordination and delivery of monthly Member webinars and in-person events, including CBSR activations at GLOBE Series conferences and regional member meetups.
  • Conduct post-event follow-up, including feedback surveys, circulation of registration lists, final attendance reports, etc.
  • Travel periodically as required to support in-person events.

Member Engagement & Specific Campaigns

  • Engage with new Members to ensure successful onboarding.?
  • Maintain information packages for potential and existing Members, as well as orientation packages for new Members.??
  • Update data in CRM system to ensure the effective tracking and management of membership activities.?
  • Engage and coordinate with Members regarding the development, execution, and promotion of CBSR programs and activities.

EXPERIENCE and ATTRIBUTES:

  • Minimum of 4 years of marketing communications experience, preferably B2B.
  • A bachelor's degree, diploma or certificate in marketing, communications, public relations or similar; or a degree in an environment- or sustainability-related field if complemented with the requisite marketing experience.
  • Event management experience, both virtual and in-person.
  • Digital marketing expertise, including social media, email marketing, digital advertising, CRM management, and marketing automation.
  • A flair for creating compelling marketing copy and simplifying complex issues.
  • A passion for delivering a great Member experience.
  • Strong attention to detail and project management skills are essential, including visual literacy, editing and proof-reading.
  • Familiarity with Canva, WordPress, Google Analytics, PowerPoint, and virtual event platforms (e.g., Zoom, Slido) is an asset. Experience with CRM and marketing automation tools such as using Zoho or Hubspot is a plus.
  • Background working with business associations, corporate sustainability teams, and/or non-profits is a definite asset.
  • Bilingual English/French is not required but is an asset.
