Communications Coordinator

The First Nations Health Consortium Ltd. of Alberta (FNHC) is looking to hire a Communications Coordinator. This position will be based out of the Edmonton, AB office.
Working to uphold Jordan's Principle, the Consortium provides a 'service coordination' role in Alberta for all First Nations children living on or off reserve and serves as the link between any First Nations child and the service or program need for the child.
This position will work collaboratively in a team-focused manner within the Administration Team and will report directly to the Communications Team Lead.
Summary of Key Responsibilities
- Drafting and creating content for all communication channels including website, social media, newsletters, and more
- Updating of website content on wordpress platform
- Writing, basic design abilities, video and photography skills are considered an asset
- Creating and collaborating with team members for service improvement through communications
- Support for public engagement events
- Create and maintain positive relationships with all stakeholders
- Ability to travel
- Other duties as required.
Minimum Qualifications
- Post-secondary education or training in communications, marketing, journalism, or writing
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in a communications role
- Demonstrated experience in content creation
- Experience working in or closely with First Nations people and communities with demonstrated cultural knowledge and competencies
- Proficiency in various digital communications platforms
