Position: Graphic Designer

Department : Hospitality - Resort Services

Employment: Full-time, Seasonal

Reports to: VP of Hospitality

Purpose of Position:

This role is based primarily at our Kelowna office on Ambrosi Road, however working on-mountain will be required occasionally. The Graphic Designer will create innovative, visually appealing designs to promote our brand, events, and attract visitors to the resort.

Position Requirements/Skills:

  • Degree in graphic design, visual communication or related experience.
  • 2+ years of experience in graphic design, preferably in the tourism, recreation or hospitality industry.
  • Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign.
  • Experience working in a PC/Windows environment and with Microsoft Office programs and tools.
  • A keen eye for detail and aesthetics, particularly layout and typography.
  • Experience working with commercial print companies, with a strong understanding of file preparation, pre-press requirements, layout, typography, and the ability to create high-quality print assets such as brochures, flyers, and magazines
  • Proven experience designing digital ad campaigns, including social media ads, display banners, and email marketing graphics.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with cross-departmental teams.
  • Ability to adapt to a changing environment, handle multiple priorities and work independently on both short turn-around projects and larger, long-term projects.
  • Highly desirable:
  • Experience with Adobe video and animation software.
  • Prior experience working with content management systems to help maintain websites, including a basic knowledge of HTML/CSS.
  • A passion for outdoor adventure, including snow spots, biking and hiking.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Sales and Marketing team to develop concepts for print and digital graphics that inspire and enhance the brand of Canada's favourite family resort.
  • Create eye-catching graphics and visuals for promotions, including, posters, flyers, brochures, print advertisements, social media graphics, website, digital advertising and email graphics.
  • Contribute to the design and production of resort merchandise, promotional materials and signage for events.
  • Maintain branding guidelines and standards for the resort, ensuring consistency and quality across all design channels.
  • Maintain a high level of quality and attention to detail while working on multiple projects with tight deadlines.
  • Liaise with external clients and commercial print companies and external companies on projects in a professional manner.
  • Assist in converting supplied video content and graphics for various mediums.
  • Stay up-to-date on new graphic design trends, software updates, and technology advancements to improve overall design quality and efficiency.

Wage: $25.00 - $28.00 depending upon experience.
