We are currently searching for a Community Engagement & Communications Coordinator in our Calgary office. The successful candidate will be an excellent communicator, with strong people skills, and a background in strategic community engagement and communication. You will be joining an established team of professionals working on several high-profile infrastructure and transportation projects in the Calgary area.

Your responsibilities will include:
? Coordinating directly with owners/clients, project managers, engineers, and contractors to prepare public communication material including display boards, newsletters, factsheets, website content, social media content, construction notices, and discussion guides.
? Issue management: proactively identifying issues and suggest resolution strategy.
? Drafting responses to public inquiries; conducting necessary forensic work and following up on contractor/project team resolution.
? Writing key messages, proof points, briefing notes, presentation packages, and information for press releases.
? Keeping issues log, public inquiry log, and key messages log.
? Coordinating site tours with political figures and/or other stakeholders.
? Coordinating and expectation setting with sub-consultants.
? Preparing and implementing communication, engagement, and outreach strategies to promote projects.
? Supporting the development of digital media and website development activities.
? Planning and executing in-person and virtual meetings and presentations.
? Collecting and entering data related to online engagement and surveys.
? Collating and managing community engagement reporting.
? Miscellaneous assignments on an as-needed basis, such as award submissions, project summaries, or internal intranet posts.
Requirements
What you will bring:
? University Degree in either Communications, Marketing, Public Relations or equivalent experience in public engagement, communication, or marketing.
? 2+ years of experience in community engagement, communications, or a similar role.
? Professional writing experience including plain language, web-content, internal and external communications.
? Strong analytical, planning, organizational, problem solving and time management skills.
? Interest in infrastructure project delivery or the willingness to learn.
? Knowledge of online and virtual engagement including social media.
? Working knowledge of public sector infrastructure projects is an asset.
? Experience with government relations, risk identification, media relations, public relations, stakeholder analysis and facilitation are an asset.
? Experience with Indigenous community engagement and socio-economic studies is an asset.
? Knowledge of various software, including Adobe Suite, WordPress, Survey Monkey, Hootsuite, Google Analytics, Engagement HQ, Social Pinpoint, Zoom, Microsoft Teams, WebEx is an asset.
? Experience working in a project management software.
? Knowledge in graphic design, photography and/or videography is an asset.
? IAP2, CPRS, IABC, IAF membership or certification is an asset.
